Obviously I know HOW to use a snappi. However, I was trying to use it with DS, he's 11 months and we're using Large Bummi's prefolds. They get so bulky because they're so long and I have to fold them up, I was trying to see if I could get it on him like a fitted using a snappi.
However, when I fold down the edge it is nowhere near wide enough to go around his waist to the front.
If I fold the prefold the other way so it's wide all the absorbency is in the crotch, great if he was a girl.
Any suggestions? Do these prefolds just run narrow?
Re: How to use Snappi's
When you say the prefolds were so bulky, were you trifolding them and laying them in a cover?
When I fold a prefold around DS, I put it under him the long way. If it's too long, I fold the back or front edge down (or both) an inch or so, and then bring the back wings around the front. I bring up the front and then grab the edges of the back wings with the snappi.
Here's a great picture tutorial for folding prefolds.

yes I have been trifolding it, however it's about 3-4 in too long for him so I end up folding it down in front to up the absorbency. however, this puts SO much diaper in front that it's super bulky. If I do any of those folds the back wings do not come around his waist far enough to even touch the front of the prefold.
I've been doing this fold backwards so the folded part is in front for more asborbency. But the edge of those wings come nowhere near the other edge of the prefold so I just kind of stuff it in the cover.
You could fold it against the seams, the short way instead of long way.

but if I fold it the wide way then the absorbency is in his crotch? will this make it leak easier?
I have the large size bummi's. They only make 2 sizes.
Thanks for sharing. Way more than other sites I have seen!
