TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

I cleaned out THE DRAWER

Holy cr@p that was hard.  I felt the need to do it today though, heaven only knows why.  I've had "The Drawer" since we lost Miller.  It was filled with maternity clothes, pg related books, those stupid freebies from the diaper and formula companies, etc.  I tossed the toys and freebies, recycled the books and listed all the maternity clothes on ebay.  I also finally listed the $25 gift card I had Motherhood Maternity.  Hopefully I can get something fun with the money to help make this worthwhile.  I also now have a totally empty drawer that I don't know what to do with.  I think it will take me awhile before I can put anything in there.

  • I'm so sorry Kristy. I don't know if I would have the strength to do that. I heart you.
  • I feel your pain. We bought a new house and moved about 4 months ago. I packed and then unpacked all of Haleigh's things. It was really tough. I balled my eyes out for what felt like days.

I felt and still feel like it was an important step for me to take. Ultimately, it was healing - but really tough at the time.

I agree though, do something nice for yourself! You deserve it!

  • I just recently cleaned out our 'nursery'. I know how painful it is. For me it wasn't just saying good-bye to THOSE babies. It was saying good-bye to ANY babies. It was the physical acknowledgement of a loss of hope.

I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. I hope that this was a good (albeit painful) step for you.

    HUGS.

  • Sending you so much love, Kristy.  I'm so sorry.
