An update to our night last night and a big thank you
First let me thank everyone again for their awesome support last night-you've all been a tremendous help to me throughout pregnancy/now offering wonderful advice and a shoulder to lean on.
Second, let me tell you about our night! Overall I think Ryan did AMAZING!! background: we've been bed sharing since he was a few weeks old. He is very dependent on us to fall asleep and hates to be put down (except in the bed with us). Last night around 8 I put him in his crib in his room, did a little night time "routine" and then left. It took until about 8:20ish, but he did finally get himself sleeping. There were some tears, but mostly it was fussing (which I can handle).
At 1:15 he woke, but went right back to sleep when I gave him his pacifier. At 2:15 he woke screaming. I thought he was hungry but it turns out he soaked his clothes/bed sheet. So we changed him and since he was up I fed him. Within 10 minutes of eating he was back down in his crib. He then slept until 6 (which was good enough for me-I had to be up at 6:15 anyway).
Sorry for the novel-I just wanted to update for everyone who was helping me through things last night!

I'm so glad he is getting into a routine that involves his own bed/room!

Have you tried the Huggies Overnites diapers? Lainey is a heavy wetter and those contain her for the whole night.
I really hope it's not a fluke and he continues to improve.
SillyPit-we haven't yet. But he is on the tail end of his box of size 3's so I'm wondering if a size 4 might not hold him better. I'm trying that tonight and then if that doesn't work I'll try an overnight diaper.
The Overnites are seriously awesome.
I just wonder if he would've slept even longer if he hadn't soaked himself (i'm sure he would have)
It will, I promise. The first couple nights lainey was in her crib I just sat there awake staring at the video monitor checking if she needed me. Now I sleep unless she wakes me up. It took a week or two I think.
