does your lo clap and do the hand movements in pat a cake? Do they hide when you play peek a boo? I am confused as to what the milestone means, I never do pat a cake with my lo, does everyone else?
DS doesn't clap his hands yet. He will play peek a boo with me, and he thinks it's the most hilarious thing ever. D grabs his fuzzy blanket, puts it over his head and when I say "Where's my monkey?", he pulls the blanket down and starts giggling. It's cute.

DD does peekaboo, looks around corners and giggles and then hides or plays with a blanket and then throws it off and laughts when you say peekaboo and does it again. She doesnt do patty cake but again we dont really do that one more than once every couple weeks so I dont think she's really ever had a chance to learn it, it just never comes to mind when I am thinking of things to do with her.
She does not throw the blanket over her own head, she just laughs when we hide and re-appear - and I always thought that counted as playing peekaboo because it shows they understand object permanence. Plus, my SIL is a pediatric NP and said it counts.
She claps her hands, but not necessarily when we play pat a cake. When I do pat a cake, she holds her hands up so I can clap her hands with mine, if that makes sense.
DS will clap, or hold his hands out for me to slap them - but can't quickly alternate between the two to truly do pat a cake. He will also "hide" by holding a blanket in front of him or crawling behind a toy that blocks his line of sight to me. He thinks if he can't see me, I can't see him. It's pretty funny.

DS does not clap yet. I've never played patty cake with him. I'll clap along to music or randomly, but we've never played the game. IMO, I'm really not concerned when or if DS can clap his hands together lol, it's just not at the top of my priority list...
He will play peek-a-boo with me with his blanket on-and-off his face, and I play it back with him.
Mathieu loves playing peek a boo! He will pull anything over his face to play. He got really good at playing pat a cake, could roll it and everything, but now refuses to play. I think we might have over done it with that one and now he is just over it!

Khari plays peekaboo by pulling a blanket up. She doesn't always pull it over her head or face. She'll also put a blanket over mine or Dev's faces then pull it off. She does patty cake as well, but she just claps. She doesn't roll it or pat it (I pat my legs/knees) yet.. Also I don't think these are really milestone milestones.. some babies do them some don't.. I dont' remember TK doing patty cake this young.
