Two Under 2

2nd baby weight loss

Anybody else have a harder time losing weight the second time around?!?!!? With my first if I restricted my diet I would stop losing. With the second nothing I am doing is working! I have only lost maybe 3 or 4 lbs since the intial 20 lb loss after the birth! HELP!

Re: 2nd baby weight loss

  • What's worked for me is eating healthy plus going for a 45 minute walk everyday. I have reebok easytone sneakers (and shorts), wear the baby in a carrier, and push my DS in the stroller. Quick and easy to do with both kids.

  • I found it has been harder after #2 for me to lose weight.  I just started back at the gym about 3 weeks ago.  I have already lost 5 lbs. I am working out 3 times a week and trying to watch what I eat.

Do these work well? Do you feel a difference when you wear them and have you seen results in toning your legs? I have skecher's shape-ups shoes, and can feel a difference wearing them, but for some reason am suspicious of the clothes...

I've noticed a difference for sure.

  • The baby weight fell off for #2 a lot quicker.  For me it's the "TTC" weight (8 stubborn *ss lbs. that won't move!)  And they are all in my belly.

  • What has worked for me is getting on a regimented diet plan (weight watchers).  Because having 2u2 is so busy and overwhelming early on, I found that unless I am really being careful about what I eat, I do the "shove and go" method.  And when I am just eating on the run I am not making the best choices.  But with WW, I am forced to pay more attention and make good choices (plus, I tend to stage healthy foods and keep low-point foods in the house).

DS was born in November and I have lost 65 pounds.  I am 25 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight with him.  Unfortunately, I still have another 20 to lose before I get to my "pre-TTC" weight.  Before I went through depression, fertility drugs, etc.  But I'll get there - one pound at a time!  So will you!
