Fertility Clinic Recommendations?

Posting for a friend... She and her DH are having major problems TTC. They're currently using Seattle Reproductive Medicine, but hate them. She can call twice in one day, get different people and be told two completely different "plans" for what she should be doing and when she should be doing it. No one ever seems to know anything about her when she talks to them. They have put her on inappropriate drugs, etc. She's just extremely frustrated and ready to fire them. She's not upset about not being pregnant yet, she's mad that they can't seem to get their act together. They've spent over $10k already and are sick of SRM's bad business practices.

So... anyone have good luck with another clinic in the Seattle (or preferably Bellevue) area?

TIA

  • Quite a few of us on this board have used NW Reproductive Science.  They recently merged with SRM but their Kirkland clinic is fabulous.  I highly recommend them and particularly Dr. Opsahl.  I always received top notch care there and the nurses were ultra responsive.

  • We went to Pacific Northwest Fertility in Seattle (Capitol Hill). Had success there and the people were very friendly, courteous, and helpful. We got to know some of the nurses, even the receptionists well and we always felt comfortable with the people there. Dr. Lora Shahine was our doctor and she was very good at returning calls when I left messages. Good luck to your friend.

We went here, as well.  LOVE them!  I'm not thrilled with the merge with SRM and won't even call them by that name, unless I have to. :-)  But tell your friend to check out the Kirkland clinic (next to Evergreen Hosp) because they are still mostly business as usual (as they were as Northwest Center for Repro Sciences).  I also saw Dr. Opsahl quite often, plus Dr. Kennedy who was my primary RE.  I felt very confident in their care.  I had no issues with confusion over the plans, plus as pp said, the nurses call back really quickly.

  • Strongly recommend Pacific NW Fertility on First Hill.

Dr. Lora Shahine is absolutely fantastic. Cannot say enough good things about her, and all of the support staff. Dr. Julie Lamb is also very personable.

I've been a patient there for over 2 years, just about to graduate next week!

So sorry to hear your friend is having a rough time at SRM, I have never hear anything good about them.

  • I went to Overlake Reproductive Medicine - I love love loved Dr. Johnson there.  I was not thrilled with the office staff.  But it's been a long time since I've been there, so it could be worth interviewing Dr. Johnson and scoping out the practice and all and asking tough questions about the communication and all.  I had great experiences with the Nurse Practitioners there and I really felt they knew my name when I'd call in and all.  When I was there they had you set up with one NP primarily so you would have a single point of contact who knew you.   THey got a new doctor in between my kids and I saw the new doc for a consult when I was starting down the road of TTC #2 and I didn't click with him.  I LOVED Dr. Johnson though.  LOVED.
