Nathan pooped in the tub for the first time tonight. ::sigh:: It was a good clean streak though, I'll give him that.

Poor kid. It would have been hilarious if he wasn't so upset with himself. He was sitting there playing all nicely, and then all of a sudden he looked up at me with this OMG look, said, "Uh oh... poop!" and there was no chance to get him out in time. Then he spent the next 20 minutes saying he was sorry and trying to help me clean up the mess, and getting even more upset when I wouldn't let him touch anything. When it was all clean I had to rock him and tell him over and over that it was just an accident, and of course I wasn't mad at him, and it was ok.

ETA-I'm giggling because he shiit the tub, not because he was upset about it.

Awww, poor kid (and mom)! Colin has only done that once, and he was also completely terrified/upset when it happened. It's not really the response I would have expected.

Awww poor guy! Austin got really upset when he pooped on the floor. I feel so bad when little guys get upset over accidents.

Yeah, Riley did it one time at about 10 months old and she thought it was just the funniest thing in the world, which didn't surprise me at all. I'm sure it was just her age, and I didn't think (or necessarily want) Nathan to think it was funny when he did it tonight, but it made me sad when he beat himself up so much over it. I mean, the kid isn't even potty trained yet, so it's not like he really has the idea of "we only poop/pee in the potty" in his head like R does. I thought he'd be like, "oh no, I'm sorry Mama!" and move on.
