AW: My diaper bag and ?

I'm so in love with it! Seems like there is so much room. I watched a youtube vid on it and they packed a ton in.

Which brings me to the question, what is essential to keep in the diaper bag?

  • I registered for that one because I think it is super cute, too!  If you google diaper bag list/check list you should be able to find something you like.  Of course, diapers, wipes, diaper cream, bags to put dirty diapers in (in case you aren't near a trash can right away), extra binky, bottle if you aren't BFing, change of clothes or two while they are little.

  • I also keep in a thermometer, nail clippers, a hat, receiving blankets, breast pads....

  • The first time I packed a diaper bag, I looked like I was heading out of town for a trip. Then I learned. Here's what I keep at the newborn stage: 3-4 diapers, Cosco wipes (or a travel package), a change of clothes, a changing pad, antibac. wipes, a formula container that holds 3 bottles' worth, 2 extra water bottles, 1-2 bottles, a small first aid kid (that includes a thermometer), a roll of those scented diaper trash bags that clips to the bag, and a few binkies. I keep an extra blanket in the carrier with the baby. Of course, I'm at the mega-bag stage, carrying a change of clothes for 3, diapers for 2, sippies for 2, and snacks for the older two....all on top of the infant's needs:) Yikes!

  • Thinking back... for a newborn:

4-5 diapers (DD had poopsplosions alot)

    travel wipes container

gallon sized ziploc bag with change of clothes inside (put dirties in bag)

    extra shirt for myself

breastfeeding cover (also functioned as emergency blanket quite often)

1 or 2 pairs of nursing pads

    1 burp cloth (we didn't need/use bibs)

    small tube diaper cream

    hand sanitizer

    water bottle for myself

    granola bar for myself

    pacifier and pacifier clip

    my wallet/phone/keys

eta: for us we also had Gripe Water and one of those little medicine droppers

  • Unless we are going out for the whole day (which is totally different) I bring, 2 outfits, 3 diapers, travel wipes, binky (if you use one), "wet bag" (for dirty diapers and clothes), burp cloth, and a bottle of water (for me).  I BF, but if you aren't then you need bottles and formula.

Good idea, probably something always smart to keep in the car. Thanks. :)
