XP: Wedding venue help?

My sister is getting married in Fall of 2012 and is starting to look around for venues. She's looking for a place to hold both the ceremony and the reception. Ideally, she'd like the wedding to be outside and the reception inside, but that's negotiable. She'd like to keep it inside the 275 loop either in Cincy or NKY.

Anyone get married at a venue similar to what I described? Other thoughts or suggestions?

My friend is planning the same type of wedding, and they just booked Oasis Golf Club. It's right outside the 275 loop, off the Wards Corner exit.

Krippendorf Lodge at the Cincinnati Nature Center https://www.cincynature.org/krippendorf.html My wedding was small, under 100 people. We had the ceremony outside, dinner inside, and reception on the covered porch and outside on a large stone patio. For pictures, you honestly cannot find a more gorgeous setting. It is also possible to put a tent on the big stone patio but I didn't want to cover up that beautiful wooded background. If you do a google search for "krippendorf lodge" a few wedding pic sites will come up.

This was the only place I was able to suggest. My bank had their annual holiday party there the year I was in charge of the committee. Good times...

Some of the "standards" are Devou Park, Hilton, Verdin Bell and The Madison. Krippendorf is beautiful, but it is very weather dependent. The only option for an indoor wedding as a backup there is to add a tent (unless it's an extremely small wedding). It would just make me too nervous to get married there! A few of the Cincinnati Parks have sites you can rent for receptions and then you can get married on the grounds.

Our wedding reception was at the Oasis. It was very nice. I would recommend getting the room that overlooks the golf course, several of their rooms do not have windows and had more of a conference feel to them.

I hate this ipad sometimes with the keyboard. I typed up a response but it got flubbed. We used Voice of Freedom lodge in West Chester. Not inside the loop but I thought I would throw it out there.

I got married at the 20th Century Theatre in Oakley and had both there, I LOVED it and the pricing is fantastic. FOod is great, and the employees are amazing.

We got married at Lakeside Lodge in Sharon Woods. We used a tent for the outside wedding and inside the lodge for the reception. Small wedding though, around 100 people.

If she needs a caterer I highly recommend https://www.tglcatering.com/ Michael Scudder is the owner. We had soooooo many compliments about the food.

I would look at country clubs. We had our reception at Clovernook Country Club in North College Hill and it was wonderful. I'm pretty sure they do weddings too. There's also the Savannah Center off Union Centre if she's willing to go an exit up 75.

We were married in a gazebo by a lake at Lake Lyndsay. The reception was just next to it inside a lodge. I thought it was very lovely!

Our wedding and reception was at the Madison and I honestly could go on for days about how great they were to work with. I can't rave about them enough! We saw each other before and did pictures at drees pavilion. I wanted outdoor pictures and it's a beautiful setting, but was out o my budget so I just hijacked the location for an hour, pre wedding, for free. We got married in the Madison south building, in the loft. It was perfect for us and fit everyone comfortably. We had 200 guests. Then we had our reception in the emerald room in the Madison building. Everyone just walked around the block to the separate buildings and it worked out perfectly.

I wanted an outdoor wedding and LOVED this place, but I could never get up the guts to have an outdoor wedding. I do like to live vicariously through those who have had weddings here though.

With Krippendorf, the one true bit of luck I had in my life was that the weather was literally perfect that day

BUT, I did know that I had some back-up as the wedding was small enough that I had planned on using the covered porch (it is HUGE) for the ceremony in case of rain. There is a large awning that can extend over the patio as well if you want to really cover your bases (had to pay extra for it which is why I opted out and hoped for the best with the weather but, like I said, I had the porch to fall back on).

We got married at The Madison in Covington. We did a Friday night wedding to save money. We got married in the Crystal Ballroom, and then had our reception in the Emerald room.

We had a really great experience there! The prices were amazing, and the whole process was easy.

We had about 120 guests.
