It was good. N slept until 9 so we missed church at 9:20 and went at 11:20. That set up the day for the being behind, but so what? I got to sleep in until 9! I usually have 9 or 10 people for Easter and this year is was only 6 of us total so that was nice.
N loved his basket.
not good: he fell off our bed and cut open his head on the baaseboard heater. nothing bleeds like ahead wound. Poor bunny.
We had a lovely day. Yesterday we drove to Pasco and back for a wedding, so today we slept in a bit, grabbed some coffee, and headed to church for an awesome breakfast and service.
Afterwards we came home and I roasted a lamb shank and some potatoes, onions, and yams and whipped up some shortcakes for dessert. My brother and SIL came over to eat and hang out. We let E try some avocado and she made a huge silly mess of herself trying to eat it. It was a really nice, simple day.
not good: I had too much fun just hanging out with E the other day and forgot to go to work to get stuff done for the week, so I spent 3 1/2 hours in my classroom tonight.
I also didn't get E an Easter basket...hopefully someday she doesn't think I'm a lame mommy for not bothering when she's not old enough to really care.
Good. Really mellow with family all in one house. G scored big on two full baskets of books, chalk, videos, a stuffed bunny AND a stuffed Elmo bunny (which totally confused him). My mom set up an inside egg hunt which he loved. She decorates like crazy so he had fun checking everything out.
Bad. We bit it hard on the pavement yesterday so he's got a big scratched goose-egg on his head, but what else is new. He was a bit out of it after nap and clingy at Grandma's. Then the fever started... He's passed out on Tylenol clinging to Elmo in his bed right now...uh oh.
Fun! We just moved to Vancouver, so luckily my parents and grandma came over and spent the day here. Ella hunted for eggs... once she figured out they were filled with "naks" aka mini saltine crackers that she LOVES, she was so into finding them! She also got to eat the head of a peep... she was in heaven!

Ours was not as planned...we were going to go up to Lynden to spend it with my extended family, but Max came down with a fever Saturday afternoon and still didn't feel good yesterday, so he and I spent most of the day on the glider. He did spend a few minutes looking for eggs, and did some playing here and there, but mostly wanted to snuggle with Mama.
It was nice we had prime rib! Hubby went all out, used the fancy stuff since next year we will be too busy to do all those details! Looking forward to next year, but I know LO will still be too young to do an easter egg hunt!
Ours was actually pretty good. My guy's mom came over, we ate French toast bread pudding, bacon and eggs and visited. We dug out our 8-years-running plastic eggs, filled them with change and hid them in the backyard. E loves playing with change and adding it to her piggy bank, so we showed her what we were doing, and she helped us fill the eggs. We hid them out back and she was very excited to find them. It was cool because we got to find another use for our wedding flower girl basket (it holds napkins right now). It was raining just a smidge, but I had a few layers on her under the dress (yay BabyLegs!) and she was just fine.
MIL had different ideas of Easter, but deffered to us, so I didn't have any issues. She brought her dog over and E followed Pica around everywhere trying to get her to play. E normally doesn't like dogs, but loves this one, and MIL did an excellent job of training her.
MIL and E dyed eggs and that went really well - the kid didn't make any mess and she worked well with MIL. I could have done without the giant stuffed snake that MIL brought, but at least she didn't buy any of the other little things she was talking about buying. E didn't have any issues with constipation (thank goodness), and apart from the syrup, we didn't eat a whole lot of junk. As far as Easters go, it was pretty darn good.
only teenagers at home this year (and I've never really done the 'Easter Bunny' thing even when they were little) - so we went to church and then home for a nap (yay naps!) and then to my mom's house for a fantastic meal. Bonus: Drama Free!
DH remembered to call his mom finally around 8:30 (we're both super angry with her right now - it would take a novel to explain) and then we just watched Top Gear until we both fell asleep.
it was pretty ideal.
