Who has bought a crib already (or decided on which one you will get)?
Which one is it?
Did you get a changing table or dresser also? If so, was it part of a set or did you get a different one that will match?
We are thinking about getting a dresser instead of a changing table and I am a little concerned about making sure it matches the crib.

Re: Let's talk cribs
We are not matching a dresser to the crib as I bought E a lifetime crib and we ended up not using it past a crib, and we will be moving before this baby has it's own non-baby/toddler furniture. We are buying this from Target and getting cloth drawers and putting in a closet system for furniture:
https://www.target.com/ClosetMaid-Cubeicals-Cube-Organizer-Espresso/dp/B001UU0NJW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&searchView=grid5&keywords=9%20cube&fromGsearch=true&sr=1-2&qid=1303752228&rh=&searchRank=target104545&id=ClosetMaid%20Cubeicals%20Cube%20Organizer%20Espresso&node=1038576%7C1287991011&searchSize=30&searchPage=1&searchNodeID=1038576%7C1287991011&searchBinNameList=subjectbin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&frombrowse=0
We used those shelves with E and they are now in his closet with his sheets, towels, and shoes being stored in the cubby along with clothes that are too big we got as handme downs waiting to be put into rotation. I love it! When he was a baby we just put his changing things like wipes, diapers, lotion, powder etc in a diaper caddy on the top along with his lamp and we changed his diaper in his crib. We rarely changed him in his room so not having an actual changing table in there was no big deal.
We are looking to buy a convertible crib (basically the kid can use it all the way through toddler). We also have our eye on a dresser-changing table combination piece.
I think you can buy a set if you look, if you are concerned about matching. I hope that helps.
We haven't bought anything for this LO yet so I'll just post what I did for the twins.
We bought cribs from JCP, we didn't buy a dresser and/or changing table. We just used a low dresser that we already had. We put some non-slip material under a changing pad and placed that on top of the dresser. Before the kids were a year old they were too wiggly to change up high anymore so we moved to changing them on the floor, a table just for changing would have been a waste for us.
When the kids are out of their toddler beds we'll buy them their real furniture set.
We're getting this crib, by Babyletto. We thought we were going to get the furniture that goes with it, but we don't want baby sized furniture that will need to be replaced in a couple of years so we are buying higher-quality dressers that will work for when the baby is older.

We haven't bought it yet but this is what we have decided that we are getting:

We got this crib and the matching dresser that we will use as a changing table:https://www.bonavita-cribs.com/products/cribs/lifestyle/metro-lifestyle-crib.html
We bought this one last night because of the price drop. We don't have a lot of space and needed a convertible crib with attached pieces. Plus it fell way under my husband's $300 price limit. He's a full time student and I insisted we have a brand new crib.

We got the Davinci Kaluni but in espresso

I honestly think a changing table will be a waste of space so we are just going to get a dresser and stick a changing pad on the top.
For a dresser, we are not going to get one that is from the same line or even one that is sold for a baby. 99% of "nursery" dressers have drawers that are not too deep. Sure, it's ok when they have small clothing but we want something that can grow with the child. We will be getting a normal dresser but in the same color.

Our baby room is rather small, so we're looking at items like this to save on space as we'd like to keep the twin bed in the room as well.
I bought a stokke sleepi for my first DS so I am going to get another one for this LO- I love that it grows with a child and eventually turns into two chairs...
we didnt get a changing table for DS but I am going to get the stokke changing table this time- it turns into a desk...
We are looking at this one, then the (almost identical) Baby Mod Olivia from Walmart. There is a $90 price difference, and we're still working out our budget. We are getting the low dresser from the Hemnes line at Ikea in white as well, which will double as a changing table. I'll add a rod in my closet for hanging baby stuff, and we're looking at the bookshelves that can also hold baskets for extra storage.
Snuggle.

We got this crib:

with this matching dresser:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Graco-Portland-4-Drawer-Chest-Classic-Cherry/15049715
We are just going to put a contoured changing pad on top of the dresser.
DS has the Baby's Dream Serenity in cherry. It's a fantastic convertible crib. His dresser is from PBK (I forget which style) in a cherry finish, and we got his espresso bookshelf from Target (it matches the other pieces just fine). All 3 pieces were about $900 total.
ETA: We used a changing pad on top of DS's dresser in lieu of a changing table.
This time, we're liking the Kendall convertible crib from PBK in white. We already have a tall white dresser we will use and we will probably get the white Hemnes changing table from IKEA. Total will be about $550.
As I see it, worrying too much about whether furniture matches is silly unless 2 pieces will be right next to each other on the same wall. I'm more about finding good prices!
Since we'll be sharing a 120 square foot bedroom until we move (which we're not even thinking about for another 9 months to a year), we're getting a mini crib, probably this one:
https://www.amazon.com/DaVinci-Alpha-Mini-Rocking-Crib/dp/B000FT7NU6/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I178D2OOIVHHJU&colid=2OK012Q3VWSU4
It has wheels and fits well through our bedroom door, so I can move it into the dining room or living room when I want. I can also park it in our bedroom walk-in closet when I want some extra floor space.
We're moving our clothes to the walk-in closet in the dining room and putting the kid's stuff in our bedroom closet. I'm looking for another long mid-century dresser with tons of drawers to use as a changing table, for the kids clothes, diapers, our underwear, pajamas and socks. I love to refinish vintage craigslist or thrift store items.
This is also my first choice, although we havent purchased it yet. I am also going to get a dresser that isn't the dresser that goes with the set but hope to get the same color. Let me know if you find any nice dressers that match. Thanks!
This, but espresso. I was looking at this originally, but was a little wary of buying something online without seeing it. I realized that BRU has it (for more money) and that settled it for us. We got it in espresso. We actually did get the changing table though, because we are going to cloth diaper and will need the storage space, plus there is in no closet in the nursery (technically it's a den) so again, the extra storage space is helpful.
As far as the convertible crib is concerned, I looked into not buying the convertible for reasons someone mentioned above (namely, using it as a toddler bed, but also because I had heard that sometimes the baby chews on the rail and such and it doesn't look the nice afterwards, IDK), but the price difference was only like $10 for the original set we were looking at (at BRU) so we decided to just go for the convertible.
I also wanted things to match. I kind of compromised with myself though, by getting less expensive nursery furniture but promising myself that as the baby gets older and we move into a larger house, we'll get a nicer set that will grow with the child.
Depending on how much room we have once we set up the crib, we will most likely get one of these:

I like the longer one becuase it will give us more room to put the changing pad plus one of those diaper organizer things next to it.

This is the crib and furniture set we have. We just set it up a week ago. We got a really great deal on it and it is very sturdy (feels "safe"). The dressers are full-size/adult, so they will work as they grow up. It is a very beautiful set and the crib was not difficult at all to put together.

Alison - can you give me more info on this crib/others like it? I have never seen anything like it and if we don't get approved for our 2 bedroom transfer before the baby comes, this would be great.
I'm not Alison, but they have a couple of cribs like this at our local Babies R Us.

Thanks - I have mostly been looking online so far, so I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and go to an actual store :-)
We'll be getting this from Ikea:
and this dresser with a changing table option on top:
This is the crib we are getting! We haven't decided if we will get the matching changing table/dresser yet....but the reviews for the dressers are not as good, so we are leaning toward no.
If we dont' we will probaby get a dresser that can double as a changer on top - maybe from ikea.
we bought ours from babies r us for ds and will be using it again. one thing you don't think about when you buy a lifetime crib is that the baby will chew on it and it will never look great again. ds also has the twilight turtle which has rubbed against the slats and scraped them, but a full sized mattress and boxspring will cover that.
make sure your looking into teething rail options too before baby starts using the crib as a chew toy!
This is the set that we just bought! we ordered it online so i hope it's as great as the pictures!
I really want this, which is the Oeuf sparrow crib, but will probably end up with this becuase I saw an older version of the Oeuf sparrow and the grey didn't hold up to well. I like that the babyletto mercer has a drawer on the bottom since we don't have a lot of storage. I need to see it in person to get an idea of the true color but I think we are going to just get a regular low dresser and use it as a dresser/changing table since we have limited room.
