i'm going to gp nucking futs!

Okay so on the 22nd LO was officially 2months-he decided he no longer wants to sleep during the day. He will wake up,eat, poop, and just hang out. He'll stay on the breast for a good 20 minutes and pass out cold but as soon as I put him in bed he squirms like crazy then wakes up. So for the past three days he has slept maybe 10 minutes being the longest but seems to be eating constantly. Could this just be a growth spurt? Also-last night he was in a dead sleep and out of nowhere he SCREAMS and I mean you would have thought he was being tortured but as soon as I picked him up and shushed him & told him I got him he was back asleep-never once opened his eyes?!

  • We have had to resort back to swaddling for Tara since the last few days she has been startling herself awakw. She woke up every 2 hours one night and I went back to swaddling and she is back to sleeping through the night.

     Worth a try.

  • Have you tried going on a car ride? If all else fails this is what I do. He usually falls asleep in a few minutes then I bring him in and he naps in his car seat. He had about 3 days of not napping during the day but is back on schedule now.

  • I would try the car ride but DH takes the car to work-we usually go for long walks but he stays WIDE awake-which I'm glad he's looking at his surroundings and all but you'd think it would put him to sleep eventually. Most likely we're going to attempt swaddling tonight. thanks ladies!

  • Don't start the car habbit on purpose! If you need to go somewhere, then by all means go run your errands but don't put LO in the car at 3am to get him to sleep. You will be making a habbit of this and it sucks. My sil did this with my nephew and it too about 8 months to break the habbit.

I was going to suggest the swaddling too. I figured we were passed the point of needing to do it but he still likes it way too much to stop.

I think that swaddling is much easier than a middle of the night car ride!
