Car seat?'s...

What car seats work well with preemies? They might be 4lbs+ when they come home. So what would work best. I bought convertible seats and those are good for 5lbs+... We may be able to bring 1 boy home next month, so I am trying to figure this out. I noticed that a baby in the NICU failed the car seat test and his mom went out and bought a smaller one and he did great... So any suggestion would be appreciated.

    This. I had Snugrides before the girls were born. Then I had to go buy the Chiccos because Abby was 4 lbs at discharge. I really like them though! Worth the money.

    We purchased the Chicco Keyfit 30.  My ds has been home for a little over 2 months.  He passed the car seat test in the nicu and the car seat is SO easy to use.  We love it.

    Ditto, but I actually returned my Keyfit to use my Snugride once DD hit 5lbs.

    I'm a NICU RN and at work we aren't allowed to recommend a specific car seat to parents. That said, after seeing TONS of different ones, I would always say a Chicco Keyfit.

    We had a Snugride 30 (4lbs - 30lbs) but the putting it on the base was a PITA.  We now have a Keyfit 30 and although it feels heavier to carry, putting it in the base is much much easier! We love our Keyfit!

    We brought DS home in a Graco Snugride at 3lb 13oz with no problem at all. He passed his carseat test on the first try.

    Chicco Keyfit 30!  Did great with the car seat challenges...AFTER DS got a new pulse ox...ask for one before the test!  ;o)

    We brought DS home in the Graco Snugride and he was only 4pounds 8oz. We had no problems and he passed his carseat test the first time.

    Have they changed the Graco minimums?  Last year they were all 5 lbs, but I suppose they could have changed them to compete with Chicco.
