Pjs for kids - to wear or not to wear?

Do your kids wear pjs? I'm wondering if there is a point. Certainly when it is cold they need to but DS struggles so much when I change his clothes that I'm wondering if it is totally reasonable to just let him sleep in his diaper?

  • It is totally reasonable to us. Last summer my ds slept in his diaper almost every night. Now, he just wears either a tshirt or shorts.

  • In the summer DS often sleeps in just underwear. He's even been known to sleep completely in the buff. I think it's ok as long as it's not too cold in the house.
  • Kate has to have some kind of bottom on or else her diaper comes off and she freaks out until I put it back on.  We use cloth though.  Maybe disposables stay on better?

  • I slept in under-roos from age 2-5 every night! They are basically undies and a tank, man I wish I still had em:( adult under-roos!!!

Campbell can take off disposables (and cloth with aplix), so that is one reason that I wouldn't let her sleep in just a diaper (unless it had snaps).

  • call us lazy but if DS doesn't get a bath he usually just sleeps in what he wore during the day.  It was shorts for a while but since he's not walking yet and has blisters galore all over his knees, he's been in some basic long pants from Carter's.  Plus, if we don't get a chance to change him in the am before he heads over to MIL's house, MIL will change his clothes.  He comes home in something different than what he was wearing when I left that morning at least twice a week.
  • Megan sleeps in underwear 80% of the time even in the winter.  That's just her thing I guess :-)

Ryan sleeps in zip up footed jammies.  He doesn't stay under a blanket so I want him to be warm.

  • DD sleeps with me and hates blankets.  We put her in a onsie and comfortable knit pants.

I figure we'll do specific pjs when she can no longer wear onsies.  I figure I have another year.

  • Both my kids like(d) to remove their diaper so it would be ill advised for me to let them sleeps sans PJ's. Abby now mostly wears panties and a top (and like 4 blankets). She doesn't like the bottoms. We keep our house pretty cold so Emily is in a cotton footed sleeper and a fleece sleepsack over that. When it really heats up we might go for the onesie, we'll see. She seems to like being warm more than her sister.
