Saving/Archiving videos

So when DD was born, my dad bought us one of those hand held flip-type video cameras.  I use it a lot to record 1-2 min videos of Sophia to post on youtube for my family (we are in a different state).

I don't post all the videos online, but obv do not want to delete the videos we already have.  What's the best way to keep them?  When they download to the computer, they are .mov files.

Should I just write them to a CD?  Is there an "easy" way to make them DVD, or is that just too much work for 1-2 min videos?  I just want to be sure when Sophia is my age she still has the technology to look at these videos.....

Re: Saving/Archiving videos

  • DH is saving all of our videos of the girls on an external hard drive.  We keep it in a safe place so it won't be damaged in case our house catches fire and it won't be stolen should someone break into our place.  There's also talk of opening a safe-deposit box for that and a few of our more sensitive documents.

This.  All pictures and videos go on our external hard drive.
