I've been getting adjustments at the chiropractor weekly, with a couple of emergency adjustments slipped in, so I've thankfully managed to avoid SPD, even with my tricky hip.
However, I have noticed that other body parts are not happy. My ankles, fingers, shoulders and wrists all seem to ache more, and get fatigued quicker, and pop/crack more often.
I definitely plan on bringing it up with my Dr on Thursday, but in the meantime, I've been doing some research, and from what I've been reading, relaxin doesn't discriminate from one joint to the next - it loosens everything. This is apparently why carpal tunnel is a frequent occurence even if you weren't otherwise at risk.
Is anyone else dealing with non-pelvic/pubic joint issues? If so, how are you dealing with it? I've been wrapping and icing my ankles, and borrowed a wrist brace from a friend for when I'm at work, but nothing I do seems to ease the pain under my shoulderblades, or in my fingers/knuckles.
Re: Relaxin causing other joint issues?
there's not much you can do to ease that pain...
i've got it in my hands and knuckles, my knees and hips are the worst
sometimes i get it in my shoulders...
but i think we're all just sentenced to suffer through it until baby arrives
Well, DARN!
I kind of knew that would be the response, but I'm still hoping someone's found a miracle cure they're willing to share!

i've always thought yoga or stretching would help out, but it seems like sometimes it just made it worse
so my solution has been to lay on the couch and just be miserable with it
I did that all weekend. I'm back at work today, and I keep emailing DH whining about it.

That is a for sure "nothing you can do about it" thing. I always drop and break dishes. I can't seem to hold onto my car keys anymore and a myriad of other things.
ok, glad that's just not me then too...
my hands have become almost useless. i hate cooking and doing dishes. i seem to have no coordination whatsoever. it's so bad that i can look at something and say "don't knock that over" and what do i do? knock it over
i also find that i stub my feet/toes on EVERYTHING around here
I drop everything constantly, and knock things over. My typing seems to have gotten worse, as well. It's like my brain is processing way faster than my fingers can go.
I have 6 weeks left until my leave is scheduled to start, but I'm seriously considering leaving work early. All I do all day is type, and by the time I'm done my shift my hands feel like those of a 90 year old.
