I was not induced with my DS. He came on his due date and was 9 lb. 15 oz. The first contraction came at 3:15 am and he was delivered at 6:23 pm. Over 15 hours ... ouch!

I was induced with my DD about two weeks early because my DS was so big and I did have a hard time with the pushing. They started Pitocin at 7:30 am ... and the first contraction came around 9:00 (guessing with that time) and she was delivered at 3:07 pm. Only 7 1/2 hours. I definitely prefer being induced. I didn't feel that the contractions were rushed ... it felt like a very natural progression of contractions that got stronger as the time went on. It wasn't an all of a sudden the contractions were huge kind of a thing. Neither one turned into a c-section. My DD was 9 lb. 2 oz. when she was born (two weeks early). I am so glad they induced!

    1. Did you go into labor naturally or were you induced?

DS i went into labor on my own

    DD i was induced

    2. If you were induced why & when (what week/day).

Thursday morning...I had bloody show for 48 hours and went to LD to get checked, I was 1 cm and because of the bleeding and contraction pattern they induced me because they thought my placenta was slightly separated near the cervix

    3. Did you have a positive or negative experience being induced?

mixed- I went natural with DS (so i thought i could go natural again)but the pitocin caused horrible contractions and I was miserable and had only got to 2 (turns out i had sever scra tissue on my cervix which is why the cx hurt so bad) i got stadol and in 2 hours went from 2cm to complete

    4. Did you natural labor or induced labor turn into a c-section? If yes, why?

    1. Did you go into labor naturally or were you induced?  Induced with DS

    2. If you were induced why & when (what week/day).  he was measuring big - 39 weeks

    3. Did you have a positive or negative experience being induced?  positive.  I am so glad I was induced and I hope OB will go for another induction this time.  DS ended up being 9lb3oz (a week early) so I'm really glad I didn't have to go to my due date.  It was also really nice that it was scheduled so that we could make arrangements with family and I didn't have to stress about when I would go into labor.

    4. Did you natural labor or induced labor turn into a c-section? If yes, why?

      no

    1. Did you go into labor naturally or were you induced?  Induced

    2. If you were induced why & when (what week/day).  41 weeks even

    3. Did you have a positive or negative experience being induced?  It wasn't terrible, but I'd like to avoid it again if possible.  The hospital wouldn't let me get out of bed which limited my ability to have an unmedicated birth and I eventually got an epidural.

    4. Did you natural labor or induced labor turn into a c-section? If yes, why?  No, but we were close.  DS had to be delivered via vacuum extractor, turns out he was over 9 lbs!

    1. Did you go into labor naturally or were you induced? With my first son my water broke a week after due date and I had him after about 16 1/2 hours. With second son I was induced and from start to finish it was only about 5 hours.

    2. If you were induced why & when (what week/day). I was induced simply because he was already over a week late. I was induced on a tuesday and I was 41 weeks and one day.

    3. Did you have a positive or negative experience being induced?I had a positive experience with both. It was interesting to see the differences. Being induced definetly made it go quicker thou

    1. Did you go into labor naturally or were you induced? DS naturally DD induced

    2. If you were induced why & when (what week/day). 41w6d she had her cord around her neck and I think it was divine intervention because there was also a kink in her cord that was resticting oxygen and nutrients from her she would have been a LOT bigger.

    3. Did you have a positive or negative experience being induced? My labor and delivery from DS was much easier than my delivery with DD. 33 hrs active labor and 3 hrs pushing to be rushe to an emergency cesarean was far from the 20 hr labor and 40 min pushing that I did with DS

    4. Did you natural labor or induced labor turn into a c-section? If yes, why? She was in distress/ failure to progress

    1. Did you go into labor naturally or were you induced? Induced

    2. If you were induced why & when (what week/day). Induced at 41w2d, doc wants all babies out by 42 weeks, only at that hospital on certain days.

    3. Did you have a positive or negative experience being induced? Overall positive.  My body took forever to respond to the pitocin, but it wasn't bad.  Overall my labor was 21 hours.

    4. Did you natural labor or induced labor turn into a c-section? If yes, why? nope, no c-section.  I almost had to twice, once because I only progressed a centimeter in 10 hours, and once because we didn't think she would fit through my pelvis.  But ultimately I did not have a c-section.

    1. Did you go into labor naturally or were you induced? I was induced

    2. If you were induced why & when (what week/day). My doctor decided to go ahead with the induction because I was past date 41weeks, but mostly because my blood pressure had gone up from a consistent 120/70 to 140's over 80-90. I was induced Jan. 28 at 9:00am with pitocin (cervix was favorable so decided to go ahead to pitocin) and Emma was born at 7:31am the following morning. Hard labor started around 2:00pm.

    3. Did you have a positive or negative experience being induced? For the most part good, I was happy to meet my daughter finally but there were some down sides. My blood pressure which was already elevated had gone from 140's/80-90 to 150's/100. My nurse said it was because of the pitocin and highly recommended that the sooner I got my epidural the better- I had held out pain wise until 7cm Smile. Once had epidural in my system bp went down. I pushed for 3 1/2 hours before they gave me the option of vacuum or c-section. I don't know if the induction is what caused the long labor or if it was just my body sucking Smile

    4. Did you natural labor or induced labor turn into a c-section? If yes, why?

We chose the vacuum and had her out in just 5 more pushes.

I had a scheduled c-section because LO was breech.  my OB said she could attempt a version, but even if it was successful they would immediately induce me so as not to risk sending me home and having the baby flip back to breech.  after doing research on induced labor I decided to opt for the scheduled section... I decided I'd rather go in calm and know what to expect instead of having so many things up in the air and risking the high chance of ending in an emergency c-section anyway.  I was more than happy with my experience.

    1. Did you go into labor naturally or were you induced?

    I was induced at 36w2d.

    2. If you were induced why & when (what week/day).

DD had more (or less) stopped growing. According to statistics, 70-80% of babies who had slowed growth & the stop and go growth pattern like my pg were either born ill or born still if mothers waited to deliver naturally.

I had 2 rounds of cervadil (Wed & Fri) and  was admitted Saturday at 8:30 am for the pitocin drip.

    3. Did you have a positive or negative experience being induced?

It was not how I had anticipated, but it was not horrible. I maxed out on pitocin by Saturday night. They took me off the drip so that I could eat, but then I went back on (by choice) to see if that would kick start my labor. I was able to move and walk around because I had a mobile monitor.

By Sunday a.m. I had maxed out on pitocin again, so mw no longer gave me a choice and broke my water at 8:30a.m.. (I had been progressing - cervix thinning and effacing anyway). Intense contractions started around 11a.m. I pushed for 30 minutes and DD was born at 2:47pm. It was not a very long labor and I did it without pain meds or tearing. Once my water was broken, I was taken off of the IV.

    4. Did you natural labor or induced labor turn into a c-section? If yes, why? No.
