The townhouse we rent out in Springfield is having problems with the a/c not being very cool or blowing as hard as it should. We've been burned before by just going off Yelp, so any recommendations would be appreciated.
This is who we bought our new heating/cooling system from, we have a maintenence contract with them too (we're in Springfield): https://www.ars.com/home.aspx
Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.
We live in Springfield and had our entire HVAC system replaced when we bought our townhouse almost two years ago. We used Mann-In, Inc, 14700-F Flint Lee Road, Chantilly, VA 20151, 703.263.1200, Fax: 703.263.1915. I'd recommend calling and asking for Drew GArdner (571.238.1965). Their website is www.mann-in.com and they do sell Carrier products.
We were thrilled with their work (whole proces, clean-up, etc.). I know you're only looking to have someone service your system but they should be able to help. Since you're renting, what did your landlord say about approved contractors/who to call?
We also had the whole system replaced 2 years ago and used 24-Hour Heating and Air. Although we are pretty happy with the system itself, I have been less than impressed with the service as part of the maintence contract. I would go with another company. We have also gotten burned by B&B Heating and Air and I do not recommend them either. Way overpriced.
Re: Looking for HVAC (esp. a/c) recommendations in Fairfax County
We used a former co-worker of my husbands. He did a great job.
I'll send DH and email to get his contact information.

Anyway, I hope that helps!
We were happy with FH Furr - they've got a very good reputation. They replaced our furnace and air conditioner last March.
