Anyone else feeling 'behind'? Between the first timers on here and my next door neighbors who are also due in July--I feel like I should be doing a ton more at this point. Well, I haven't actually done anything yet. Partly busy and partly I don't feel like I have a ton to do. We kept mostly everything from DS#1 and having another boy, so we can even reuse the clothes. The biggest thing is the nursery. We are moving DS#1 to the guest room (the room is bigger) and buying him all new furniture and decorating his room and then leaving the nursery pretty much the same with a few personalized things here and there.
But the furthest we have gotten is cleaning out the guest room closet--which stored stuff for us. Seeing all of these nursery pictures makes me feel like I should be further ahead!
How are all you doing? What do you have left to do?
Re: 2nd time + moms
I feel the same way as you. I have bought a ton of clothes because I just can't help myself with all the cute girl clothes out there:)
We are moving DS into a new room with a big bed. Well I am not even half way done with that. My goal is to get it done and him in there by Mother's Day.
For DD's room I just have to paint the lower half and find bedding that I like. Not really that much in there. The thing that is holding me up is not being able to find purple bedding and decorations that I love.
Our new LO will be a girl. We don't have a room to decorate for her. The kids will have to share. I haven't done anything in the room yet though. I feel like I have some time because she will be in our room for a while. My next project is to go through DS clothes and see what is gender neutral enough to reuse for DD.
DS slept in a toddler bed over the weekend and did okay. That made me happy.
Me. But I feel a little more caught up after this weekend. We also moved DS into a new room so I re-did that (just need some pics hung on the walls now and his clothes moved into the closets).
We are re-doing the nursery since this will be a girl. I got all the painting done this weekend and last (whew) and am waiting for furniture to come in. Then I can figure out how to arrange it and then decorate from there. It's a step by step process!
It's hard to do everything when you have a kid (or 2) already! Don't feel bad!

We're having another little girl, so we get to reuse all of DD1's clothes. But we have to get her into her big girl furniture, which I just got an email today saying won't be shipped until 5/23. Then we are redoing her room as a "Big Girl" room & less baby.
So until we get that done, the nursery work is stalled. All we've done is clean it out & lay the carpet. Still have to paint, buy bedding, decorate, etc.
So I'm definitely feeling behind, too. DH & I were just talking about how in about 3-4 months we are going to be bringing a baby home & we are totally unprepared for it. At this point in my 1st pregnancy, I think DD's room was completely done.
I went through the kids baby clothes, pulled all the newborn sleepers & gender neutral stuff & put it on top.
Yesterday J pulled the travel system out of our trunk after a month of asking. I put it together.
Now I need bottles & diapers & we're good to go. I should put new batteries in the swing & bouncy seat too I suppose.
Our family blog
We have literally not done a SINGLE thing. We are team green -- so we don't know if we'll be able to reuse DD's clothes or need to stock up on some boy's things. And even if it's a girl, DD was born in January, so the seasons will be off by 6 mos.
The biggest issue is we haven't decided if the baby will have its own room (currently the office) or share with DD. If we move him/her into the office, we literally need to reorganize the *entire* house to accommodate the computer set-up somewhere else (I work from home). We don't know if/when we'll move DD into a toddler bed before the baby arrives or if we'll need another crib. I'm kind of overwhelmed by the whole project, so I'm just ignoring it for now. The baby will be in our room for about 3 mos, so that buys us some time.
To be honest, we did very little to get ready for DD and everything seemed to work out fine. I know it will be that much easier this time around (we have lots of stuff lying around ... just a matter of unearthing it). As long as the carseat is in the car and diapers.com can deliver some diapers (and anything else we may need along the way), we'll get by just fine...
I haven't done a single thing yet. Not one. I'm a little anxious about it, but truthfully, I know that there's really not that much that "has" to be done. I don't "need" a nursery. We did one for DS and didn't even use it. In reality, all I really truly need to do is get my car seat and stroller back from my best friend and get the swing out, but those can wait a little while as well, since at this point all they'll do is take up space. There's a few things I need to buy, but we're on a strict budget, so it'll have to wait a little bit.
I'm not gonna hit freak out mode until mid-June.
This is part of my procrastination as well! I feel like, well, he will be co-sleeping with us for two months or so at least, so I really DON'T need to do anything. Eek..maybe nesting will kick in a few weeks for me, especially with the nice weather!
I just started feeling this way this weekend.
This baby will be sleeping in our room for the first few months in the FP Rock N Play Sleeper, so I don't need to worry about the nursery for a bit.
But, I need to buy new nipples for the bottles and I need to go through the bins to find all the burp cloths, newborn sleepers, bibs, etc.
I know where the boppy is and it is clean. The bouncer is still put together from DS2 (oops!!) and I still have tons of baby blankets in DS2's room.
I guess I should also get some newborn diapers at some point
I am having a repeat c-section, so I will be in the hospital for 5 days. I have tons of family that always run around and get us stuff (especially since we are Team Green), but I do want to start washing some of the burp cloths, sleepers, etc. and at least getting them upstairs.
