Holding my babies extra tight tonight....

Good family friends had a drowning scare today. Their son (2 days older than Rye) was found in their pond face down, not breathing today during an Easter egg hunt. Everyone thought he was with someone else and after searching for him, this is how they found him. They did CPR immediately and took 2 min to have him start sputtering out water. He is in the PICU tonight as they are unsure of lasting effects or brain damage and infection from dirty pond water.

hold your little ones close tonight and please send T&P's for our friends!

    That's so scary!  I had another friend with a drowning scare last week at the gym pool.   Water accidents can happen so quickly.  I hope your friend's little one is ok.

    I am holding my little Mister Mister as we speak! That is just terrifying. I hope their little man pulls through with little to no lasting side effects. They are in my T&Ps!

    When I was about 10 I found my cousin face down in our green pool on Easter during a egg hunt. This gave me chills. I am so thankful I found her and must have right after she fell in. I was able to jump in and get her out. I can not even imaging. I worried about that so much that we got Kiah into swim lessons very early on in life. Not that it will save her but that she could at least flip on her back if in danger. I really suggest water safety classes for all kids. We are around water 3 days a week at least and Hailey has no fear of it at all. Scares the crap out of me!!!!!

    Laurie - I am so sorry - my T&Ps are with your friends.

    My husband's grandmother had a little boy that was born before my MIL.  He drowned in the family lake when he was 2 - Madelyn's age.  Water safety has thus been a HUGE priority for DH's family.  Even 70 years later, grandma watches the little ones like a hawk when we're at the lake.

    I just hate when bad things happen to people - especially our little people.
