Movement question...

Anyone else experiencing this?

Have felt her move for weeks now, some days more than others.... but I have hardly felt her at all for the last day and a half. Very minor, if any movement at all.

Getting a little concerned.

Re: Movement question...

  • My little guy does that all the time. He will have some very active days, followed by a few days of little movement at all. I think it's still normal. Your baby is running out of space in there, but still has enough that she can be stealthy every once in awhile. I'd say don't worry about it for now, but if you don't feel ANY movement for a few days, then call your doctor. If nothing else, your doc can ease your fears. :)

  • When I start to worry, I eat something really sweet or drink something with caffeine and lay down on my side and can usually feel her right away.  If you're really worried, I'd definitely give your doc a call.
  • My LO will do this too. I will have a couple of day where he/she is really active and then have very little movement for a day or two. I would only worry if you are feeling no movement for more than a day or two but my doctor told me that right now its normal to have more active days and days where I will feel very little movement.

  • I go through the same thing with my LO. Sometimes I have to break out the doppler just to listen to her heartbeat.

She especially like to stop kicking when I put her daddy's hand on my belly when she's moving around lol. Hopefully she'll kick for him soon.

  • Happened to me at 23 weeks for two days. Didn't matter what I ate or drank, what I did or didn't do. All of a sudden the next day McB was all over the place in there.

    Please don't worry.

  • My doctor said that the more I move around, the less likely I am to notice her (so LO may still be moving). She also said that if i'm still really worried to drink A Reg. Coke and that it should do the trick.

  • there are days when my little guy doesn't stop and then i'll go a few days without feeling much at all.
  • I too have days where I feel baby and days where I don't. I try not to worry but it is hard not to obsess!

  • I had a scare like this just last Monday. She is normally very active at night and throughout the morning at work. She had been quieter all weekend, and when she was very quiet during her active times I got worried and called the doc. They had me come in right away to get checked out - everything was fine.

My advice would be to go into the doctor. Any time you notice decreased movement they want you to come in. If anything else it will give you peace of mind!

I just found out that she was positioned differently. She was still moving but I couldn't feel the kicks.

Play it safe and go in. No more worrying. Smile

  • I feel my little man at night, mainly at 3am - 4am & normally around lunch time, & around 11- 12am bc thats when his daddy gets home from work. Its such an amazing feeling! :)

  • My little boy does that too. He was kicking like crazy when his daddy was feeling for him, but did not want to kick for his grandma.

  • I have had a few days like that, and even drinking something sugary hasn't helped sometimes, but what HAS helped is drinking a ton of water, especially cold water.  Chug a liter and see if it makes a difference.  I really have to fight to get all my water in.  I've never been a big water drinker.  I feel like baby is much more active on days when I do a good job with my water vs. days when I know I should have had more.

  • Thanks for posting this-- I am there too!  Saturday and Sunday were relatively calm, and meals and even sweets were not doing much.  I was considering calling the doc if I didn't feel her today but after talking yesterday about how much I wish she'd give me a few kicks, little girl came right in last night and made her presence known.  :)  Sigh of relief!
