my every day camera died. :( I have an E18 error and it would be at least $150 to fix.

i like having a camera with me basically at all the times but my slr is too big/bulky/heavy to always carry.

I have a canon powershot s2 is. I would love one of the sx series but they are a bit steep and to be completely honest i really dont need anything that fancy to drop in the diaper bag and my purse.

what smaller cameras do you all like? I would prefer canon but would be open to brands other then Nikon. Nikon and I don't have a good history. :)

    I have the sony cybershot (I think) I like it for a point and shoot but I rarely carry it with me. I'm a freak who doesn't mind carrying the extra bulk of my dslr. I just know it inside and out and its easier for me to use

    DH just got a Canon Powershot A 3100 IS.  It is so tiny, but it takes some really good photos.  I tried it out at DD's egg hunt yesterday, because I didn't want to take the DSLR out in the monsoon.  I used auto and P mode for what I took, and they looked sharp and the color was good.  You can see them on my FB.  It was $120 on sale at Amazon.

    I also have a canon powershot. I have an older model but it still takes great pics and the size is perfect for stashing in my purse. I highly recommend one of the powershot models.
    6/28/10: Lost our sweet baby Addyston at 18wk 1day to pPROM 7/24/11: Michael William born at 24wk 2d due to IC after an emergent cerclage at 18wks, 4wk home BR and 2 weeks hospital BR. Grow strong our little Miracle! 9/17/11: Michael joined his sister in heaven after 8 amazing weeks with us on earth. He fought a very hard fight but NEC was too much for him in the end.
