Ginger Candy?

I've been reading about ginger candy and how it can help with morning sickness. I just sent DH to Rite Aid to look for some but they didn't have any. Any ideas where I might find this? Is it something that would be found at a health food store?

Has anyone tried it? Does it actually help with nausea/morning sickness?

Re: Ginger Candy?

  • I bought some off of amazon, but it hasn't gotten here yet.  I also bought some preggie pops to try.  At this point, I'll try anything!

Edit to add:  they are called gin gins.

  • actual candy shops usually have it, both hard candy ginger and crystalized. The thought of that right now makes me sick, so it is not in my list of things to eat. However it is known around the world to help with upset stomach, and digestion problems.

  • I have some from Trader Joe's, but if there isn't one near you then check the baking section of your supermarket for crystallized ginger. It isn't candy exactly, just sugar covered chewy ginger!

  • I swear by these: Original Ginger Chews by The Ginger People. I buy them at Whole Foods, but I've seen them other places and I know you can order them from their website. They have really settled my stomach during bouts of queasiness, but I haven't had full-blown m/s yet. Good luck!

  • Trader Joe's has a great assortment.  Some grocery stores have it in the baking aisle or snack aisle near the nuts.  Whole Foods also carries it.  Hope this helps, it does wonders for me whenever I have an upset stomach.
