kind of new here and have a question...

Hi ladies:) My Dh and I are having our first child we find out if its a boy or girl next week and plan on registering that day. So what Item would you recommend that you and your baby cant live without? Thanks

Re: kind of new here and have a question...

  • For the newborn stage, a Moby.  I can't tell you how many times C napped in that when he was first born!

  • ITA w/ BFab plus a Boppy (whether or not you plan to BF). I loved my Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper Mini. Bypass the baby towels. They're too small and thin. You'll get more baby blankets than you know what to do with so don't ask for any. The flannel receiving blankets that are so cute aren't the best. I preferred the larger muslin ones for swaddling. For overnight swaddling, I couldn't live without the Velcro swaddlers (miracle blanket or swaddle me). Congrats!! :)

  • Thanks so much for the advice! Im so excited I cant wait to be a mommy:)
  • Moby (or other easy in/easy out carrier), My Brest Friend and Boppy (they each have their uses), white noise machine, swing!

The swing we got was the Fisher Price My Little Lamb and it was awesome!

A nursing cover made me feel more secure nursing in public the first few times, and I use it around my father-in-law. It has been in a drawer for months, but part of that depends on your comfort level and the area you live in. :)

We used Halo swaddlers and they were the best. I agree with pp that we pretty much had to use the velcro sacks to swaddle at night. We used the flannel receiving blankets as spit-up cloths...they weren't big enough to swaddle with.

After the initial few months, I LOVED the bumbo seat. We used the seat and tray as a portable high chair even after he didn't need help sitting up. I guess we stopped using it around 10 or 11months.

Having one of those floor gym mats is super useful, too. We used it when LO could just lay down of course, but it was also useful when he could sit up but not really get anywhere.
