Bottle warmer - worth it?

I am BF but am pumping a little to get DD used to the bottle for DC.  We have been warming her bottles in a cup of hot water.  It isn't bad but I am wondering if a bottle warmer is worth it?  Do I need to have the one that goes with my bottles?  TIA!

Re: Bottle warmer - worth it?

  • We have a second hand First Years that we also used with #1.  DH feels better using the warmer because it takes out the guess work.  It takes less time and uses less water.  They run under $20 at Walmart.

  • I have the Munchkin warmer - it runs around $16 at Walmart and Target.  It only takes 90 seconds, and we love it.  It also sterilizes pacifiers and later we can use it to warm baby food jars.

  • I don't think its worth it. When I was pumping and we had to heat a bottle, we would just heat some water on the stove and after that was good and hot, we put the bottle in it for a minute and it worked just fine.

I guess it might be handy to have if you are on the go all the time but being home most of the time I was pumping, a bottle warmer was not a necessity for me.

  • I have the munchin warmer, and like a pp said, it is less than $20.  It is a lot quicker than warming with hot water.
  • I have the 1st Years but we are FF and premake bottles, so they are too cold for H coming out of the fridge

  • We have the Tommee Tippee bottle warmer. Works great!
