Baby dropped or UTI

This may sound silly but the past week I've been peeing NONSTOP. Like literally every 30-45 minutes I have to go. I thought the baby had just dropped, therefore more pressure meant more frequent potty breaks. Today, though, even when I go pee I don't feel relieved. I feel like I could still go and like I'm still holding it. Anyone else experience this? It doesn't burn or anything, I just feel like I cannot get my bladder empty. I still assume it's pressure from the baby but it crossed my mind it could be the start of a UTI or something.

  • I have this too, I thought it was just the way he's positioned. It's weird because the need to pee is pretty much the same each time but I never know if It will be a lot or just a trickle. Might be TMI but the other day I was on the toilet I peed, and went number two - once I got off the toilet I had to pee again....it's like evetytime I stand up the pressure makes me need to go.

  • This is me, too, for the most part. All week I've gone every half hour or so (I had my first internal exam on Monday and haven't felt the same since!), but today it's like I feel no relief. I'm sure it's just her positioning. I feel like I'm single-handedly keeping Charmin in business!

  • Either way drink some cranberry juice. If you have a UTI it will help, if you don't it will clean you out, and its good for you!

  • The amount of TP used has been insane. Also I feel bad for all that water being used to flush so if it's just a trickle I don't flush anymore :( that might be flammable but I feel like flushing 5 times in an hour is not doing any good for the environment lol

I am using so much TP! It is just so hard to feel clean/dry down below. I've been using flushable wipes which seems to be helping.

  • In our labor class, the lady said that usually your bladder holds 2 cups of urine...but when the baby drops, it can only hold 1/2 cup of urine. It is very possible that it is just the baby, and not a UTI.

I would, however, suggest talking to your doctor at your next appointment to make sure that that is what is going on rather than an infection. They should be able to tell you if the baby has dropped or not. They were able to tell me when it happened through measurements/an internal exam.

I was doing this when I started waking up in the middle of the night to go. I felt bad flushing every hour when I wake up, I felt like it was going to wake up DH. But as it turns out he is grossed out when he wakes up in the morning and there is pee in the toilet, so I had to start flushing again. LOL

Ah! good to know. Thanks! I'm sure it's probably just from the baby, but I go back for another check up on Monday so I'll ask the doctor to make sure!

  • I definitely feel like I have to pee all the time too.  Usually I feel like I have to go again right after I leave the bathroom.  I just assumed it was the baby's position, but now you've got me wondering if it could be a UTI. I've had a million of them, but not since being pregnant and I think they can feel quite different then.
