Re: YMCA

  • We are members, but I could take it or leave it. We keep it for the boys, M does preschool sports and loves the swimming.  I am ticked ours stopped "tot swim" it was perfect, kinds 5 and under with a parent.  We loved doing it with all of us, no big kids!   D has worked out there before, but I haven't, I should though, lol.

  • I was thinking about joining to workout there and swim. $95 a month sounds kinda pricey to me but dh wants to join.

  • $95 a month is a lot more expensive than the brand new 24 hour fitness right by us!  wow.

Our YMCA is a DUMP.  I wouldn't pay to join it even if it was only $20 a month.  Some are nice though.  I would just look at it and compare it to your local gyms too.

  • I have workout at a YMCA almost everyday for the last 7 years. I love it!!! Kiah is also on swim team there so we would have to pay for a membership for that anyways. You don't pay extra for daycare these people are wonderful and highly trained to be with your kids. I also work at the KING COUNTY YMCA and hopefully in Snohomish county soon. The training to be able to work there is crazy! I am pretty sure I have more training than any other gym I have ever been at. I suggest it and think the price is high nut worth it depending on what one you will be at. Sorry if this is all messed up I am on my phone! Haha at the YMCA.

$95 seems ridonk! Is it $95/person or for the whole family?

We pay $13 bucks/month total (both of us combined) at Gold's Gym. That includes all classes and equipment. I love it. I just go to spin class 3 days/week, but they also have aerobics, zumba, yoga, pilates, weight training, etc. Have you checked into other gyms?

  • We go to the Dale Turner on 99 and love it. The kid adventure zone is awesome for the boys. We meet up with friends and we work out while the kids play. Shane goes in with his friends too. My only wish is they had more yoga classes and at better time. It is brand new so it isn't shady and worth the monthly price for all four of us. I've paid for other gyms before but they are way more family oriented. So far, I'm happy. The staff at the Dale Turner is great too. Friendly, helpful, and awesome with the kiddos.

  • Holy crap, $95 is a LOT.  The gym that I sponsor (i.e. pay for monthly but never go to) is only $21/month.  No pool or basketball court, but plenty of classes, childcare, sauna, etc.  No WAY I'd pay $95.  Granted, I shouldn't even be paying the $21.
  • We belong as a family.  DH and I really don't work out there.  We both want to but don't have the time. So we are cancelling our membership and just keeping DS membership.  For just him alone it $ 35 which is better than $ 95 and us not going.
  • I go to the Y pretty much on a daily basis. It's $71 a month for DD and I. She seems to have a good time at the child watch area and I get to do my thing. Aren't you up north too? I think the Marysville one is a tad bit closer to me but I definitely prefer the Everett location.
