When did you start wearing maternity clothes?

Just wondering when the detroit ladies had to switch to maternity clothes? I am still in my regular shirts and jeans... but the button on my pants are getting tighter lol. So what week was it for you?

I absolutely hated my be-band and having anything touching my stomach early on, so around 12-13 weeks I started having to wear the underbelly maternity pants. If I could tolerate the be-band I could have gone until probably 15 weeks. Tops I didn't really have to start wearing them until probably 25 weeks. I was pregnant in the winter for the majority of my pregnancy, so my sweaters stretched and I was fairly small until then.

Very early. I was so bloated from almost day 1. I think I started wearing bigger close around 7 weeks and maternity by 11

I used the BeBand and the rubber band trick from maybe 12 weeks until maybe 18 weeks. By then, I was just more comfortable wearing leggings or maternity pants. Or yoga pants. I lived in sweats/yoga pants all winter. My regular tops are just in the past few weeks getting too short, except for certain styles that were longer/tunic-ish to begin with. I also carry my extra fluff in my belly anyway, even at a healthy/non pregnant weight, so I needed extra room sooner than others who maybe have a flat stomach to start with.

That being said. . .Just wear what's comfy when it's comfy. Who cares what everyone else is wearing!

This. Everyone's belly grows at different rates.

I was in maternity pants at around 12ish weeks. It wasn't a NEED, I was just more comfortable in them at that point.

I was wearing yoga pants almost exclusively at week 8 and underbelly maternity from week 10. Like pp, it wasn't a NEED but I was so uncomfortable with waistbands that went over my belly that this was a much better route. As for tops, I only really started needing to look at maternity last week (week 18) because a lot of my tops are getting too short over my belly to wear in public and nothing button-down fits at all.

I started wearing maternity pants at week 20. I have it easy at work though because I wear scrubs- I'm still in regular sizes of those.

About 1 1/2 weeks ago I switched to maternity tops for the majority. I still have several regular tops that I wear as well.

I agree with pp- it is different for everybody so do what feels right for you.

I started at about 18 weeks I guess for pants. Tops, maybe 25 weeks? But do what feels comfortable for you.

I made the switch early, within the first trimester. I didn't get any m/s, so I gained weight pretty quickly. I did the hair tie trick and used a be band for awhile, but maternity pants were just more comfortable. I'm 29 weeks and can still rock some of my pre-preggo tops comfortably.

I used the hair tie and belly band at around 18 weeks, and then went to maternity pants at 22 weeks. I didn't get huge until the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy though.

When you are feeling like they are tight, then switch over, there is no set time. Shirts you will have more give on than pants.
