What is your morning sickness like?

Just curious what everyone's morning sickness feels like.  I know that sounds dumb, but mine doesn't seem to be the normal queasy stomach feeling.

I mainly feel it after getting up from sitting/laying down- my whole body feels achy and my nausea is more in my throat/head if that makes sense.  I am also still getting over a cold and I think the mucus and post nasal drip is causing a lot of it.

Re: What is your morning sickness like?

  • I seem to be feeling it in the later afternoon and early evening.... and though I haven't actually puked yet, its like a constant nausea and a lot of dry heaving. My appetite goes away completely, but luckily I make up for it in the early afternoon when I am ravenous!

    Hope you feel better!

  • Mine comes in epidodes. One minute I will feel fine and then I am so sick to my stomach. I havent thrown up yet but I have really wanted to at times. I am going to start carrying a doggy bag around me bc I am so scared to throw up in public.

  • I wasn't even sure if mine was morning sickness, but after today I know it is.

My stomach just feels weird- unsettled, slightly sick like I ate something bad. Today I feel nausea- and have thrown up. I have been getting random bouts of gagging too.

  • I just feel really sick to my stomach pretty much all the time.  No throwing up yet, though.     And I have food aversions to pretty much everything...it's the most miserable feeling to be hungry but not want to eat.

  • Mine felt like a constant hangover...morning, noon & night. I never really threw up (except a couple times while trying to brush my teeth) but I was always nauseated unless I had saltine crackers in me. I never left home without em!

This is exactly how I feel, except I get cravings for totally random things, like chili.  Probably my body's response to not getting enough protein since just about any meat disgusts me right now.  Haven't vomited yet, but I didn't with ds much either so hopefully I can keep that up this time around.

I started having this yesterday! I kept thinking, why do I feel hung over? I'm obviouslly not drinking. This morning I feel like I was pounding back whiskey all night.

I have zero appetite and feel like everything will make me sick now. I was pretty sure I was going to puke last night because I was gagging so bad.

  • Yeah, I feel like I have a constant, mild hangover. Like I had a few glasses of wine the night before but didn't get completely hammered. That sort of feeling. Not always straight up nausea, but just tired, weak and lethargic. I sometimes get gaggy. I've thrown up three times but one was after a coughing fit so I don't know if it counts. The third time was today, right at 8 weeks. And I'm finding few things appealing to the appetite, but when I get hungry I get HUNGRY. All of a sudden I've raging with hunger. But I don't want to eat anything. Ha.

Post nasal drip is the WORST.  If you haven't ever tried it, I suggest going to a pharmacy and getting a nasal rinse kit.  It HELPS, a lot.  The stuff that comes out is super gross and you will be able to breathe and not have gross goo running down your throat.  They have ones that look like tea pots, but the ones that are squeezey bottles are easier to use.  Just breathe through your mouth when you do it, but they really are heaven sent.  They are also awesome if you have allergies :)

As for my morning sickness, I constantly feel shakey and like I could puke at any minute, but I never gag or puke.  All I can eat right now are carby things with cheese on them, and I am drinking LOTS of milk.  In the beginning it really did feel like a mild hangover, but I would say it's gotten worse as the days go on.  Bring on the second tri!

  • I don't think mine has really hit full force yet, but it feels a little like being car-sick to me, like I just need to roll down the window in breath in some fresh air. Or my face feels a little numb and tingly and the saliva's building up, but I don't feel the need to puke yet (but I can tell it'll be coming soon...)
  • Mine feels like constant motion sickness - light headed, nausea.  It feels the same as when I forget to take Dramamine before I fly.  It is worse when I don't sleep well.

  • I didn't start throwing up until this past week...until I actually vomit I feel like crap...nauseas etc. After I vomit I feel like 100 bucks...I hope it goes away quickly

  • I'm not sure if it's m/s but at night right before bed I've been having sudden nausea, almost like I haven't drank enough water during the day (though I've been drinking water like a horse every day). I guess you could say it's similar to feeling hungover. I also notice I get nauseous right after eating.

  • I didn't start getting MS until I was 7 weeks. It got so bad over the next two weeks that I couldn't keep down water. It seems to settle down in the afternoon, but then it picks right back up in the evening (and in the early mornings). I have the same problem with post nasal and mucus too - try to eat some crackers, that'll keep the acid in your stomach from getting worse, since mucus makes it feel worse. I'm on Zofran now when it gets really bad every other day - it doesn't feel like normal queasy either. It's more of a really bad hunger pain with a floaty "gross" feeling in my throat and head. But I can't eat because I'll just throw it up! It sucks :(

I hope you get better <3

  • Mine started at 6 weeks but I didn't throw up until 9 1/2 weeks, when I was a passenger in a car...I've noticed it's better to be the driver ;).  Mine lasts all day long, but I have noticed if I eat healthy the day before, I feel good the following day. My pre-natals make me gag, and I basically gag randomly throughout the day.  Unfortunately, there is NOTHING I want to drink, except maybe unsweetened iced-tea (tried to aviod caffeine, but this is literally the only thing I can get down!) I did buy the caffeine free one too though. As soon as I drink something, I feel nauseous. I got sick of Saltines, so I switched to Triscuit.  I also get relief by chewing gum to get rid of the constant bad taste in my mouth.
