Trying to Get Pregnant

struggling

I'm sad to have to say this, but I think I'm going to have to go back on my meds for my bipolar which means no TTC. I feel like a failure. MH has been very supportive about this, we knew it was a possiblity. Just because I can't do it now doesn't mean I'll never be able to do it, but right now I just can't handle it. So since we won't be TTC I'll be leaving the bump, I mean there's no reason to be here anymore. I can't even begin to explain how hard this is on me. I cried for quite a while last night. I know it's kind of soon to be throwing in the towel, but when you know in these situations you know. I have to catch it before it gets too bad.

Anyway, thank you all for your support this month and for accepting me after my major newb mistake. I'll miss you girls and chat. I hope you all get BFPs soon.

  • I'm so sorry Closure, but you should be proud of yourself for making a choice that is best for you and YH now, and what is best for your future LO. As you said, just bc you can't do it now doesn't mean you can't in the future. GL to you.

  • I'm so sorry! I'm sure that this was a really difficult decision for you to make. I think the fact that you were able to decide to do what's best for your own mental health, even though it means waiting to have a baby, shows that you're able to make hard decisions for the benefit of your family - I think that's a quality that will help you to be a good mother once you and your husband decide that it's time to try again. Good luck!

  • I just wanted to say that despite how hard it is to put TTC on hold, it is commendable that you recognize that you need go to back on your meds. I struggle with Bipolar myself and I know how hard it can be. Try to view it in terms of taking care of yourself first. I was in this exact same position early last year. Best of luck to you!

  • I'm really sorry :(

I think it's good you are doing this though, it will be better in the long run. I think it is responsible of you to take care of yourself first, before adding onto your family.

Good luck, I hope you are able to join us again soon!!

  • You are definitely making the right decision for a future healthy mom and baby. Have you talked to your psychiatrist about things? There are some non-traditional bipolar medications that can be taken while TTC. It is also possible to re-start some meds after the first trimester....just a thought.
