Living in Prior Lake? Any reviews?

Hello!

We are thinking about moving our family to Prior Lake because we like the topography and how much home we can get for the price.  However, my husband and I are not from Minnesota and have not lived here long (currently we are in the city) and I wanted to get some other mommy/family reviews on the area?  I've researched the schools for ratings, etc. but are they very progressive?  Just thought some feedback would be good for our search and decision.  Thanks sooo much in advance for any opinions.

    We are moving there in a couple of weeks. Everyone I have talked to that lives there lives it. I've also heard good things about the schools. I don't have personnel experience yet because we haven't moved yet, but we talked to a lot of people while looking for day care. Good luck with your decision.

    We live in Prior Lake and absolutely love it!  It's far enough out that you don't feel like you are in the middle of the city but close enough to everything you need.  We are expecting our first baby this week, so don't have any experience with the Prior Lake school districts, but I have not heard anything bad about them!  Sorry I don't have more information for you, but did want you to know that we love the area and don't plan on moving anywhere else!

    Hi,

    My name is Kristi and I am the Communications Coordinator for Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools. Our schools have a very robust and progressive curriculum that is designed to meet the individual learning needs of the child. We also have a gifted academy called SAGE and a K-12 Environmental Education program that is recognized nationally for its science curriculum. We are also exploring World Language Immersion and/or a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) program for our elementary schools.

    It's a beautiful area. Both of our children attend school here and love it.

    That's where my parents lived and I graduated high school from. No idea how the schools are now, since when I was there it was still a pretty small town.
