Watery eye/nose ?

DD's right eye keeps watering and her nose is running, but only on the right side which I think is from the eye.  Her eye does not look at all like pink eye, no redness or goop, just watery.  I already called the pedi and they don't want me to bring her in, said to watch for pink eye otherwise might be a cold, which is weird for only one eye to be affected.  My other thought was allergies, since I have seasonal allergies and mine are pretty bad right now.  Last night we used the humidifier and it didn't seem to make much difference.  Any ideas what I can try to get her eye to stop watering so bad?

Re: Watery eye/nose ?

  • B had this issue really bad last spring.  We gave him benadryl once or twice when he was especially miserable (page one of the pharm ladies for dosing).  We did actually take him to the pedi when a rash also resulted...  and the diagnosis:  Allergies.  So it wouldn't surprise me if it was allergies.  Keep running the humidifier too- that really does seem to help.

Thanks!  I just told my mom to give her a dose, hopefully it helps.  She did fine last year, but I guess she's going to take after her momma with seasonal allergies.Sad

  • Lily has had this too off and on and the pedi finally gave in and said she could have some childrens claritin for allergies. DH and I both have them so it was no surprise. They generally dont like LO's under two to take them, but in her case the antibiotic didn't work and the claritin did.
