Can't bring myself to take a test

I'm EBF and DS is 14 weeks old.  AF has not returned yet, but I had some cm that's similar to when I ovulate.  I'm not on birthcontrol, but we have been using condoms with the exception of one night a couple of weeks ago.  I have been really emotional the past few day, moody, had an upset stomach, and gas.  I don't know if I'm just reading to much into it or if I should take a test.  Was planning to space our kids around 2 - 2 1/2 years apart.  I think DH would have a heartatack if I'm pregnant.  We will take God's blessings as they come though.  I'm to scared to take a test.

Re: Can't bring myself to take a test

  • This is the easiest time to get pregnant unfortunately & happens more often than not. (sorry for the bad news), try not to read into it too much, it can cause your body to "act" pregnant. I'm sure you're nervous & a little freaked, just go ahead and take a test for safety measures!!

Pee on a stick and find out if you actually are or are not pregnant.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.

    Yes

Taking the test won't change the outcome, and if you are pg, the only thing you can do is deal. If you aren't pg, you won't have to stress anymore - if you are pg, you can start making plans. GL!

  • I mean this as nicely as possible, but if you and your DH are this freaked out about becoming pregnant right now, you need to be on some sort of birth control.

Took a test this morning and it was negative.  I bought more condoms when I bought the test, so hopefully no more scares. I know if we were to get pregnant before we plan to we would still be happy it would just be hard as I'm sure all of you know.

  • just fyi... my son was born august 2nd, and i didnt get my first period until the end of december....4 months and I was not EBF. It takes everyones body different times to get back to normal so you might not get your period for a long time. My SIL EBF and didnt get a period until her daughter was 10 months old so dont use that as your indicator. In addition... I only had one cycle then ended up pregnant again unexpectedly. We loved the surprise (my son is 8 months), but we werent expecting it! Took us two years to get him. So if you really dont want to get pregnant and are freaking out about the possibility, then you need to faithfully be on birth control or use the condoms always. The anxiety is not worth it.
