Today has not been a good day for me, work started off great and then ended in an argument with a co-worker. So when I got home I was so relieved, and excited that I could finally eat some dinner. What I really wanted was toast, but i had left the butter out (I must have forgotten to put it away last night.) and the bread was expired. So I called DH who was getting ready to leave work and I asked him if he could pick me up something for dinner, because I just got home and wasn't really feeling up to going back out because of nausea and the fact that I'm sooo sleepy I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open. Let me tell you what DH says "You're not that pregnant, just go back out" Not smart DH, not smart. I asked him what qualified as being "pregnant enough" and he said eight months.I love DH, but sometimes he does not use his brain.
Re: Oh DH that was not smart...(vent)
I'm sorry DH bothered you by saying something insensitive.
Although, I'm not really sure why you couldn't eat the bread/butter. Butter doesn't go rancid for several weeks at room temperature, in fact many older people don't keep butter in the fridge at all. Also, I've never known that bread has an expiration date (is it a best by date?). It is obviously shelf stable, and as long as it isn't dried out or moldy, it's fine.

This. I don't refrigerate my butter, I like to be able to spread it on things.
