FFFC

Good morning, ladies.

Didn't see one so I figured I'd get it started.

Ready...set...GO!

Re: FFFC

  • I have stopped looking at my SIL's FB postings where she talks about what they had to eat that day. It bothers me that they feed our nephew junk all.the.time. He just turned one. All of her family has diabetes and are obese and it seems like they are just setting D up to go down the same path. I really dislike my BFF's boyfriend. I honestly cannot stand him and he goes everywhere with her so I only seee her about once a month now.

  • I spent more time than I'd like to admit looking at gay porn yesterday...  In my defense,  one of the guys on real world (who has been quite the homophobe so far) was shown being confronted about his gay porn past in the preview for the upcoming episode.  So I wanted to see the pictures/video =)

Dh snoring woke me up right before the good part of a goooood dream, I was so pissed that now I'm considering spending the rest of my pregnancy sleeping in the guest room so it wont happen again.

  • We might be moving to Austin, TX and I'm a bit freaked out but also a sliver of excited. It's crazy hot there (i've lived in south, tx for 3 years before) which is not great but we can get a much bigger house and the cost of living is so much less there. It won't be forever and my family can fly down monthly if we want but the whole thing is kind of overwhelming.  Would love IHeartStuart's input on her move to Texas and if it was worth it.

I'm letting DS watch Jake & the Neverland Pirates all morning before we go out. I've taken them to the park and the flight museum and the tulips and we're going to Kelsey Creek Park later so I don't feel all that bad.

I'll admit, when they showed what's ahead for the rest of the season, I got excited b/c things are about to get really good! ...the next few episodes should be quite interesting!! I love The Real World!

  • I have become a gleek.  I have watched the whole first season and part of the second in one week.  :::hangs head in shame:::
  • I want this little guy out. I can't get any sleep at night anymore due to his position and I'm just plain uncomfortable. There have been several nights that I would start having sting contractions but they never last for more than 20 minutes. At this rate he won't be born until the end of next week when I will be induced.

Wow that is exciting!  Maybe you could find a great nanny to help out down there too so mama can take some time to relax? : )  Cruz has watched a ton of tv lately thank goodness he has a playdate coming today!

My confession is that I really don't get the therapy part of this ppd.  I feel like a moron telling this woman I don't know about myself when I could just say the same things to my good friends and get more advise than I'm getting.  Dh says that it won't work if I don't "buy into it" it won't work, I think the drugs are helping more than anything!

  • A couple days ago I opened a bag of Pirate's Booty and could tell right away that it was stale and chewy.  Yet I proceeded to eat the whole thing.  Then I opened another bag because my first one was so disappointing and I still wanted some yummy, crunchy PIrate's Booty.  I ate that whole bag too.

  • I wish my DH had more friends. He never goes out with the guys, or does anything with friends really. I don't get it because he is outgoing, not shy at all, funny, a "guys guy", etc. Since I've known him he has always had something about him that makes people comfortable; strangers talk to him all the time and he gets along with anyone he meets. He hangs out with, and gets along with my friend's husbands when we are in groups, but the "guys" never get together without us wives (well, they have once or twice but that's it). I really wish he would because I would love some me time every once in a while. I have girlfriends that I go out with because I need girl time away from DH. When we first met he was always with his friends from High School but unfortunately those guys want to stay in "high school" (i.e. not married, party all the time, etc) and DH has grown up and moved on to other things. I know I should be thrilled because he has said before he is happiest just being at home and hanging out with me but it bothers me sometimes that he doesn't have more friend time away from me.

  • I have to go back to work next month and I really don?t want to.  I have always said that I would never want to be a SAHM, that I enjoy working and really need to work to contribute to our family. I think I was wrong; I love being home with LO! Technically we could probably afford for me to stay home if we made a few cutbacks but I wont do it because I would feel like I was keeping my kids from having the best lives that they can. With me working it makes it so that we can go on vacations, do many activities, have the ?extras? that we want and I can give my kids the things they want and need. I grew up poor and have vowed since DD1 was born that I would make sure that my kids have their wants and needs met, I feel like if I stayed home I might not be able to fulfill all of their wants. I know this is shallow but I can?t get over it. I will be WFH two days a week so I know I am really lucky but I am still not looking forward to it.

This was me.  He had a few buddies he did jeep stuff with but that was a few times a year and they lived far away and I had nothing in common with their wives (and he had nothing in common with outside of jeeps). He's made some new friends in the past few months and we now have new couple friends and they both have 3yo boys.  it's awesome.  Does he have hobbies you can encourage him in?

I know what you mean! My SIL lives across the country but comes to visit every summer. She feeds her kids crap non stop. They are older (4 and 6) but their dad is obese and it's teaching them terrible habits. When we go out to eat she orders a meal for each kid, they don't eat ANY of it. Instead they drink 3 glasses of root beer and then she still gets them dessert. I don't get it... why waste the money to buy food they don't touch? I could go on and on.

My FFFC: I gave LO formula last night so I could get drunk.

  • Sesame Street is usually on at 10:30 every morning. Today there is some weird show on instead. The bad part is that Jake is still napping and I'm a little bummed that I don't get to watch it. I've been turning it on every morning while we play for some background noise and I sorta enjoy watching it!

  • For the last couple of months I have been hinting at DH that he should get the big V. He is still undecided if he wants more children. I'm completely DONE, I don't want any more and the road for #2 was LONG and emotional, DH knows this. 2 days ago he mentioned his rental car could get "3 car seats in the back seat." yesterday, he started analyzing what we did to get me pregnant this time and how we stayed pregnant. He asked for my opinion and my simple statement was, "does it matter, it's not like I'm doing this again." he was a little disappointed in my response. I'm afraid post baby this is going to be a major issue of our marriage.

I wish. He is in school for Computer Info Services so computers are kind of his hobby.  He would love to be into quads or motorcycles we just don't have the funds right now. *sigh*

  • I love my BFF but seriously she has no idea when it comes to money. 2 weeks ago she cried to me that she couldn't pay a $600 bill for her car, one week ago she told me about the things that she brought for her 6 year old DD's birthday that equated to the best part of $1,000. Then 2 days ago she sent me links to the 2 DSLR cameras that she is looking at purchasing this w end, both being the best part of $1800!!!

I couldn't help myself & wrote back to her that as she is on a tight budget & wanting(NEEDING) a new car, is a DSLR with video the best thing to buy? She is a newly single Mom with 2 kids who earns $200 a week and relies on government assistance to help her out with everyday living expenses as her take homepay doesn't even cover rent. It makes me so angry that she can be so stupid when it comes to money!!!!

  • I probably shouldn't complain here, since my H changes AND washes diapers, but it drives me crazy that he just leaves them in a big stack on the changing table, instead of taking 4 steps to the bathroom to put them in the pail.

(I realize this other FFFC may be flamable, but here it is)

I really don't get little baby tutus and GIANT (big as their head) flowers/bows.  I think tutus are cute on little girls who are mobile enough to dance around in them, but otherwise I don't think it's all that cute.

Actually, if you happen to be going to the MLT pool in the morning or earlier in the day, you will probably get a boost of self-esteem in your swimsuit. :-) I'm sure you look great, but seeing your fellow swimmers will probably make you feel better about how you look!   And if you are going to that particular pool, you may want to avert your eyes in the shower room.  Your fellow swimmers are also not shy. ;-)

  • I thought of another one =)

I always said I wouldnt be one of those moms who dressed her kids in the matching outfits. Coordinating yes, but matching completely, no.   Then when I found out it was twins I started to think a matching outfit here and there wouldnt be so bad... and then I found out that they're identical twins, and now all I can think about its matching outfits all the time!   Matching dresses if theyre girls, and matching argyle vests if theyre boys.   Apparently this is another one of those "things" that I say I wont do and then do anyway.. oh well, at least it will be cute =)

  • I am having a very hard time not telling someone that I know that denial is a powerful thing... in all the wrong ways.

It's the people who think that everyone else is the issues that actually are the problem themselves.

Just something to consider on a spring evening.

    Oh and I love Fonzie.

  • I usually don't have a lot to say about my MIL; she's sweet and even a bit absent-minded, but has never caused any major issues. But I want to gripe about a minor thing with her. She's wants to get E something and our family is in the midst of purging. I'm a recovering pack rat, and I try really hard not to bring anything useless in the household. My mom has given me some odd things here and there, but her rule is once it's yours, you can do with it whatever you want, so that's what I'm used to. Last night my guy called his mom just to confirm Easter plans and the topic of getting E something came up. My guy said that if we can use it, then great, but that we're in the middle of decluttering and purging. He told me that it was like he had ripped her soul out and crushed it.

I've tried to get creative with holidays to ensure we don't get stuff, but I couldn't stop the tidal wave that was Christmas. I'm going to donate most of it, but I wish they would all just save their money and spend time with us instead. Cheap crap that has no use doesn't make a family. I'm afraid that the holidays have made me snarky - Easter trying too hard to be Christmas, and Christmas looking like a B-N-L parking lot from the movie, WALL-E.

I'm sorry that she doesn't understand what you guys are trying to do.  I have to say that I can relate, though.  That is so my mother.  She brings cheap crap to my sister's house almost every time she visits.  Every minor holiday turns into a version of Christmas, too. (Ironic since my sister and her family are Jewish.)  She said she feels she should bring something every time she visits.  DH and I are really hoping that the fact that we live 2500 miles away (vs my sister being 20 mins away), will work in our favor.

Stay strong!  I hope she can understand that you do want to spend time with her and the gifts are not necessary.
