library book rave: Mama's Day

I picked this book up at the library yesterday on a whim and it is so beautiful.  Mama's Day is an illustrated story about mom's and their babies/kids.  Each page has a large illustration of a mom and her baby doing a daily task (getting out of bed, getting dressed, eating, shopping, etc.) surrounded by illustrations of baby's and kid's doing daily things (playing, undressing themselves, popping bubbles, napping).

My favorite thing is that it has a series of illustrations that are exactly how I imagined my own motherhood before I was a mother (walking hand in hand with my boy while at the farmer's market and one of a mother nursing).

DS asked for me to read it to him three times yesterday and we both cracked up at some of the stuff the babies and kids do in it.  I highly recommend it as a gift for a new mom, or a mother's day present for yourself.

  • I'm gonna have to pick that up at the library this weekend!  Sounds just like the type of book my DS loves to have read to him
