we in open enrollment and i'm trying to decide if i need to add DD to my dental insurance. she hasn't been to the dentist yet, but i do plan on taking her for her first appointment this year.
The extra cost is $338 for the year. any idea how much an OOP dental exam is for toddler?
I'm wondering if some "dental accident" where to happen at this age would it be covered under our typical medical insurance or do i need the specific dental.
Re: does your toddler have dental insurance
yes, we do (for both). but, i have the worst teeth in the history of teeth and knew that, if either of the boys got my teeth, we would need it.
fwiw- when tommy chipped his tooth and there was talk of the root canal, our emergency dental (through our medical insurance) had better coverage than our dental.

Married and it feels so good!
We added DD last fall, for the "just in case scenerio". As she got her molars, we noticed a black spot on one. DD has between 5-8 cavities and needs 2 partial root canals.
Medical ins will cover the anestheisa at Dell and dental covers all the dental stuff.
I have good teeth, DH has had some issues with cavities, etc.
I never expected DD to have issues with cavities so early and I am so glad we added DD to ins when we did!
Yes, both of our kids have it. We enrolled them when we signed them up for medical insurance at a couple of weeks old. We don't pay anything for our dental insurance. It is included with the cost of our medical insurance.
