Honestly it's hard to say... On average you should gain 25-35 lbs for the entire pregnancy. (Like I said AVERAGE. There are obviously different recommendations based on if you are under or overweight to begin with)
Some people gain nothing at 20 weeks.. then in the next 20 weeks gain the whole 30lbs. Some gain 20lbs by 20 weeks.. then only 5 more the next 20 weeks. Everyone is different.
It's best to just eat well, excercise and do your best.

It depends on if you started out at a normal weight, or were over or underweight before you got pregnant. I wouldn't want to throw numbers out there and freak you out.
I don't go with the 'average' number because it doesn't fit everyone. I've gained 14 lbs so far and the baby measured at 3.9 in the 61st percentile earlier this week. Some women I know have gained 40 lbs so far and their baby is barely 3 lbs.
I have gained about 23-25 lbs and I am almost 27 weeks. I was hoping not to go over 35 lbs but I am not beating myself up. I do think everyone is different. Like pp said, do your best. Be sure to indulge, just don't go crazy on what you eat just bc your pregnant.
I was one of those ladies that gained later in the pregnancy. At 20 weeks I had only gained like 2 lbs. By the time I hit 40 weeks I had my 30 lb gain.

As PP have said, everyone is different. It depends on your pre-pregnancy weight and your own body. I am 27 weeks and have only gained 9 pounds but DS is measuring at 2 pound 5 oz., in the 77th percentile, and is completely on track (he is actually measuring a week ahead of his EDD). I would go with what your doctor says. Mine is happy with my weight gain so far based on my Pre-pregnancy weight so I would go with what they say vs. trying to compare to others.

There's really no perfect number for 20 weeks.
