Phobic of Ectopic Pregnancy

My step sister had an ectopic pregnancy that nearly killed her and she lost 1 and a half fallopian tubes and now there is barely any chance of her getting pregnant naturally.

And my mom smoked around me my whole life so i'm worried that I will have an ectopic pregnancy too. :<

Basically I'm looking for some kind of hope...

I'm 4 weeks today.

get an early ultrasound. That's the only way they can detect one, and given your sister's experience, I wouldn't want to wait around until between 8-20 weeks to find out if there was a problem! Ask your doc to get you in to make sure everything is in it's place .

I'm in the same boat the same exact thing happened to my sister. I have my first u/s next week I will be 6 weeks and 3 days. Just praying everything implanted normally. Get an early u/s thats the only way to really has a easy mind about it. T&P to you!

EP is scary. Is 2nd hand smoke a risk factor? I would call your ob and say you are concerned. You can get bloodwork done. EP usually has very low progesterone numbers and does not continue to double over time. After 5 weeks or so (HCG > 1,000) an early ultrasound should show the gestational sac in the uterus and rule out EP.

I have no signs of one...aside from kinda low beta levels (that are doubling right, but still low) and I have this paralyzing fear of one. I am a hypochondriac anyways...but I wake up at night thinking about it. I don't have any indications of one, or any trauma but for some reason still think about it. Get an ultrasound early. I sure am going to try to get one early!

I've wondered for awhile if 2nd hand smoke played a factor in my EP. My RE told me afterwards that the most likely reasons for an EP are women who have smoked, had some sort of STD, prior EP's, or some type of major abdominal surgery, all of which were not factors for me. Growing up though my parents smoked like chimneys around me and so it's made me think that maybe it does have something to do with it.

OP, if you're that nervous, I'd schedule an early u/s to help calm you.

I have two risk factors smoking and abdominal surgery! Cramping on one side I read was an indicator
