  • glad you asked this I'm wondering the same thing and in that debate myself right now

  • Why don't you make your own baby food from organic foods?
  • Honestly, the standards to which the government holds "organic" things is kind of loose. Getting fresh fruits and veggies from a farmer's market (or even just from the food store) is just as good (and cheaper) than getting a jar labeled organic, IMO.

really the only accessibility to fresh organic is baby carrots. Most organic produce at our local store is almost outdated or ridiculously expensive. My mom has planted a vegetable garden that we will use for squash/zucchini  but we still would need fruits and the majority of vegetables.

I did purchase some veggie wash thanks to luckystarz's recommendation to hopefully offset the pesticides.

Do you have a Whole Foods in your area? It's a little more expensive, but worth it, I think :)

  • Homemade non organic. Avoid dangerous pesticides by buying products grown in Canada or USA. There are also foods that are typically not grown with the aid of pesticides. This article should help. https://greenopolis.com/myopolis/blogs/aresende/what-you-should-shouldnt-buy-organic Make sure you wash foods you intend on peeling.

  • Buy fruits/veggies and thoroughly scrub before steaming/pureeing.

  • I don't eat organically, so I won't be feeding LO organic food. I will of course scrub her food well before cooking it, but we'll be making our own food from regular produce at the grocery store / local farmer's produce stand.
