Washington Babies

Scary... and grateful...

Just needed to share with you ladies.   I did not put this on FB, because I do not want the world freaking out.

I was in the ER most of the afternoon and evening yesterday for chest pains and shortness of breath (like just waling to the store and getting winded.   hello...  Im fat, but I zumba and do the eliptical...  this should not wind me).   We were ruling out a heart attack.

I have never been so afraid in my life.    Everything came back just fine cardiac wise (some wonky bloodwork, and following up with my dr on Monday, but I've been having ongoing issues anyway with no weight loss even though i am eatnig low calorie and exercising 4x a week, severe anemia requiring iv iron and such.  And my dr is a ROCK STAR...  texting me the whole time i was in the ER to make sure they were doing their job (be sure they check clots, I want ALL the labs handed to you before you leave etc)...  the valley er sucks, but I was not driving to seattle or overlake)

I have to say i am grateful for dear IG who when i told her what was going on, and to please tell me to take a xanax and relax, googled women and heart attacks, and all the symptoms I was having were right in line with that (enter, tears and freaking out)

Other than my weight, I really have no other risk factors, but this scared the f*ck out of me.

Looks like in the end it is anxiety related, and  I have a rx for a trip to cancun.   without children.   I just have to hope regence will cover it.   (ha!)  (i have chronic depression and anxiety issues anyway, and work closely with my dr to keep it in check.   Anyone ever need a valley primary, let me know....she is amazing)

But my point is ladies, although I was crazy embarrassed, (afraid they were going to say, you're fat, lose weight ... no *** sherlock) everyone reassured me it was the right thing to do.   And heart attack symptoms in women are very very different than in men.    I am beyond grateful to IG for pushing me to go in.

A little xanax and some re-assesment of priorities, life/.work/ me time balance are in order.

I know Im hugging everyone a little tighter today....

Re: Scary... and grateful...

  • More often then not, the best way of taking care of your babies is taking care of yourself. I am glad you fought the embarrassment (and that IG was there) and went in. I hope that all the stressors in your life settle so your body can get itself back on track.

RE: Cancun... Someone needs to open a special clinic there that can be billed to insurance. And it should be all inclusive.

  • So scary - and so glad you went in. My DH had a similar scare, and it turned out it was related to another condition he did not even know he had and is successfully being treated for now....good luck and TAKE A VACATION (see, now your DH has to listen, Dr's orders!)
  • I'm so glad you are ok!!! You deserve a vacation for suffering through this winter!!

  • Yikes, how incredibly scary! My cousin (my age) had ongoing heart rate/palpitation issues and they finally figured out it was stress-related, in her case with her job. She's moved into a different field and hasn't had any issues since. I hope that you are able to reduce some stress and that this will be a one-time thing. So glad you are okay!

I am so glad that H made you go to the ER. She is a great friend. I am also so glad that it wasn't a heart attack. With all that you have going on right now, no wonder you are having anxiety attacks. Take a break. A spa day. A girl's night. A vacation! You deserve a break!

I'm so glad you went in and are ok.  Please, please, please let me know if you want to get together for coffee or a drink or anything.  Or, if you want to send the twinks over for a few hours so you can take a nap or read a book or whatever.  Seriously!  Lucy loves new friends. :) Just call or text.
