...did any of you NOT see your baby moving around a ton? When I got my last one at 13 weeks, it was just kind of calm and hanging out and was not really moving. I know I'm on the cusp of starting to feeling movement, but I'm just wondering if I just have a super chill baby.
Re: at your ultrasound...
At my 14 wk 4d u/s with DD she was asleep..Also upside down.
She didnt move at all.. Our tech really wanted to get a profile shot but she wouldnt budge. The lady pushed and poked at my belly and we MAYBE got a squirm but that was it..
DS was very active at my u/s yesterday..I dont think he liked the wand..I kept feeling kicks and movement where she was pressing.
painfully not moving a ton. literally. they had to have me lay in every possible position and push on him a ton to get all the right measurements. there were a few moments where i was biting my lip because it hurt.
of course, he was moving non stop for the rest of the day. haha.
I had to go in for my NT u/s twice and still never got the measurements... baby was just so chill, hardly moving.
What a difference our gender u/s made a few weeks later! She was alllll over the place and we got the money shot immediately and then many times after. So much for a chill baby ; )
At our U/S today our baby girl was really mellow (just like her parents). She couldn't be bothered with rolling off of her belly and barely kicked/squirmed three or so times. Tech/doctor wasn't worried. We'll go back in a month and attempt another ultrasound.
Good luck to you! I've heard a bit of chocolate or juice before the ultrasound helps liven up the baby. I keep forgetting before my appointments, though.
Our little girl (eek! found out today!) was super active at the N/T and again today. I think it has a lot to do with the baby, though.
My mom said my sister was very active and I was not. I also heard from a woman who just had twins, and she said one was low and barely moved and the other was high and moved all the time. I think the fact that that happens with twins really shows it has a lot more to do with what the baby wants/likes.
If your baby is super chill, I hope that keeps up after. I'm a little concerned how active this kid will be when the kicks start to hurt and keeping up once it gets out.
I think I've got a chill (lazy maybe?) baby too. At both the NT and anatomy scans he wasn't moving much, or at all really. At the NT scan it took forever to get the measurements they needed because he refused to moove from his curled up facing my back position. And then today he was just laying still the guy managed to get the pic of the goods, because Smudge was laying with his knees bent and his legs spread a little. He didn't move the whole time.
It actually comforts me, because I saw his heartbeat so I know he's alive in there, even though I can't feel him.
And I had an iced cappuccino before my appointment figuring that would make him move. No such luck.
I drank half a Diet Pepsi (first in over 16 weeks) and the baby was ALL OVER THE PLACE. It doesn't help that I get easily wound up from caffeine, but he would not stop for anything. I think it helped, but for the next ultrasound, I won't be drinking any.
We just had our anatomy scan on Wednesday. He was really active the first several minutes and then decided to take a nap. The u/s tech said that the babies have spurts of energy but they don't last long, so it's normal for the baby to be still. HTH!
I had 3 ultrasounds with my DS, and he never really moved in any of them. He's not named ZZZ for nothing....
I had my first ultrasound with this LO on Tuesday, and he was moving all over the place - waving, kicking, rolling over....I am very nervous now about parenting this little one... LOL - I'm used to a calm, sleepy kid - it's 10:30 AM and my DS hasn't even woken up yet!
I think it all depends a lot on the individual child's personality. It looks like I have a very calm child, and am going to be having a VERY active child. Oh boy.
