My mother brought the girls an egg dying kit. I had successfully avoided it before that. (thanks mom) I just can hardly bear the thought of a one and three year old making the kind of mess that I know will occur. I wish it were nicer outside. At least then we could make a hell of a mess out there. lol

yeah, i think so at this point. i bought ingreds to do natural food-based dyes last weekend but didn't have time. then thought i'd bring them with us to do this weekend when we're OOT. but i forgot all about it until i read this post! i'm packing right now and really don't feel like adding that to my list. so, F it...cal won't know the difference!
Childhood cancer (DH) + chemo + radiation = 0 sperm.
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!
We're not doing it. We are going to try and take her to an Easter egg hunt (there are several in our area on Saturday) and possibly do one in our house too. We are also doing an Easter basket.
She's not a huge fan of getting messy/art projects, so I see this being way more trouble than it's worth!!
(I should also add that I'm Jewish, but DH is Catholic so if it were really important to him, we'd do it... but he feels the same way I do!)
Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
Totally skipping it! She wont remember not doing it lol! The potential for mess scares me.
Dx: PCOS/Amenorrhea/Anovulatory/lining problems.
Clomid = BFN's. Lots of cancelled cycles due to thin lining or cysts.
IUI#1= Follistim, estrace and endometrin = BFN
IUI#2= Repronex, follistim, viagra suppositories and endometrin= BFN.
IUI#3= Repronex, follistim, viagra suppositories, femtrace and endometrin= BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isabella born in June via C-section!!!!! She is so incredible!
Went back to RE to TTC#2 and got a WONDERFUL surprise!! Baby #2 on their way!!
My Beautiful son Liam born Feb, 2011!!
I haven't even thought about doing it. Somehow I think it would be quite the disaster! But then again, I'm the scrooge that will likely not take DDs to our church Easter Egg hunt (two toddlers, an unfamiliar house, and a picnic and DH is working so it would just be me).
2004-Started TTC; Nov 2007-Lap with endo removed; Jan 2008-Ectopic (mtx); April 2008-IVF #1 (bfp, twin girls); March 2011-FET (cp); June 2012-IVF #2 (bfp, singleton, EDD 3-19-12)

Well, it is probably more due to the fact that I never once dyed easter eggs as a kid (I had significantly lazy parents) but no, we are not doing it I will look into it for when she is a little older (I don't even know how to do it). But seems like it would be a disaster. We are going to take her to a petting zoo where they have a special easter egg hunt (something else I never did as a kid, and my DH is Jewish, so we are really making this all up as we go) for kids under 4 so I hope that will be fun for her.

We ARE doing it for the same reason... I never did it as a kid, so now I get super excited at the thought of making hard-boiled eggs pretty. I don't really even understand the point behind it, but I am excited about it anyway
It is way more for me than for Lucy at this point!

I won't be doing this for at least a few years. I remember doing this with my parents, but not until kindergarten or older. That is probably when I'll start projects like this.
We are going to an Easter egg hunt, because I know she will love running around finding eggs with candy!
Um not only am I not having Nicholas dye eggs, I am not even getting him an Easter Baske- so I am a total Easter Scrooget. I don't see the point. he is 2 and has no clue about the Easter Bunny. I think next year when he is 3 we will do Easter Baskets. I just hope my niece and nephew don't ask me "What'd the Easter Bunny bring Nicky?".
And just to show you how uninterested in coloring eggs Nicholas is, today we were at my mom's house and my sister bought a bunch of stuff to dye eggs. Nicholas couldn't have cared less about the egg coloring.
I think next year he'll enjoy it more.

I dye them by myself. That way they can get nice and dark because I drop them in a cup and then go do something else. It is hard to have the patience to wait for them to get much color, especially at 3.
On Easter Monday I'll hide the eggs for him in our yard (Sunday is way too busy) and because it is always wet here the eggs/dye are enough of a mess from the hunt that I can't be bothered with two messes.
Oh yeah, we are SKIPPING that festive activity. That sounds like a nightmare with my bull-in-a-china-closet DS. We are putting goldfish crackers and Matchbox cars in Easter eggs instead.

ETA: My mom is the one who brought it up - I wasn't thinking about doing it or not doing it. She'll let us do it at her house, so it won't make a mess at ours
Re: Toddler moms: Anyone else skipping out on dyeing easter eggs?
I literally was thinking the same thing!

Ages 3 and almost 5.
We're dying eggs for the first time EVER tonight.
I don't blame you for skipping it.

Not dyeing eggs in our house.
I don't know when we'd do it and I honestly don't have any interest in taking that on this year. She's too young.
