DH and I go back and forth as to who said it first. DH's recollection--he said it a few weeks into our relationship and I didn't say anything back. My recollection was that I said it first (a couple of months into the relationship) and he reciprocated.
DH is probably right! (Shhhh, don't tell him I said that! j/k)
DH did and it was 6 months after we started dating. I had gone to Japan for 2 weeks for my brother's wedding, and the night I got back he said it. I immediately reciprocated.
I did. We had been together as BF/GF for about 6 wks. Had gone to a Giants game with some of his friends and had a great time with Beer.
We had all planned to stay at his parents home in Sausalito because they were OOT. Sausalito is hilly and the pavement is a little uneven and I'm a klutz who is buzzed, so naturally I ate pavement. My knee was all scraped up & bleeding down my leg. I hobbled down to the house, which had just been completely remodeled with an interior designer & everything was new & white!
I became hysterical with panic. I was so afraid his parents would hate me for bleeding all over their new house - especially his mother (I have some prior BF history with a mother HATING me for no reason I could ever figure out.) He was trying to calm me down while cleaning my wound & asked me why I was so upset. "Because I think I love you and I don't want your Mom to hate me." He responded, "I love you too, and she won't hate you."
we said it to each other before we were dating, but stopped when we started dating, and i think i said it first a few weeks after we were officially dating. i think he reciprocated!
I'm feeling mushy too.. tomorrow marks 10 years since I first kissed John in my dorm room while watching Good Will Hunting

He did, about 3 weeks after we started dating. I did not say it back for another few weeks. He likes to still harass me about it too (it came up last night, in fact).
He hinted at it in an IM conversation, probably a month into dating. I forget now how he did it... he did not say the exact words. I think he was talking in the 3rd person about himself, or something like that. Sounds suspicious now, but I swear he did it!
So then the next time we saw each other in person, I said it aloud, and he did too. He claims I said it first, but I know he really did ;-)
I did. We 23, about three months into our relationship, and drunk in Vegas. He did not say it back and I, being drunk, of course cried. He explained that he wanted to be absolutely sure before saying it and he didn't want to say it just because he was drunk. The next day he told me he loved me.
i did about 3 months in at a friend's wedding .. he reciprocated about 2 months later.

He did it first within a few weeks. I said i love you back but I didn't feel comfortable saying it, but I would have felt more uncomfortable not saying it back. It felt natural after a couple months. It takes me a while to open up.

I did. It was about 3 months in and we were at the wedding of one of his friends. I had a little wine and said something like "I just want you to know that I love you and you don't have to say it back". He'd never said I love you to anyone, I think he waited another month or so... although he says now that he knew he loved me the night of our first date.

It was probably about 2-4 weeks into dating and he said it first. I said it back right away... but truth be told, I didn't 100% feel it until about a month into it. He got really sick and had to take 2 weeks off work to heal a pretty bad wound. I played nurse the whole time... and the rest is history....
DH said it first - about a month in - on Valentine's Day (how cheesy). I did not reciprocate. I told him thanks. Then he got flustered and said "my people are very passionate". Then until I told him about 3 months later, he wouldn't say he loved me, but would just tell me that "his people are very passionate".
It depends on who you ask. I signed and email "Love, A" so he says I said it first. He was the first person to say "I love you" out loud in person. I'm not sure how far in, maybe a few weeks. We got really serious really quickly. We were engaged 6 months after we met and married 7 months after that.
Dh says it was over the phone in the fall of my 2nd year of college. We had taken a long break my freshman year, reconnected in the summer and didn't really know what to do with our relationship since it was now long distance. I apparently said I love you one night when I was drunk. He was caught off guard (being not drunk and all) and laughed... and said it back.
I wonder why I can't remember?

Dh said it first after about 3-4 months. It was an honest-to-God-movie-star-moment and very romantic. He was moving to another state and explaining how we would still stay together and I tried to reassure him that I would never come between him and his work (he was getting his PhD. at the time) and he said, "Katie, my job is something I do. Its work. Its not the person that I love." Cue music! It still makes me shiver when I think about it today. I said it back after I told him to say it again like 10 times (I was so saucy when I was 19!).
it was after my prom , i said it. he didnt say it back. i was devestated, He really didnt say it much in the 3 years we dated before getting engaged. And then when we did, it was soo strange for me to hear him say it.

He said it first. I don't remember how long we had been dating but it was after we had broken up (well, I broke up with him), got back together but w/the understanding that we could date other people (my idea), then finally realized that we only ever wanted to date each other. (Yeah, I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes). He said it first, I knew he was going to say it and I was soooooo mad at him for saying it when he did! We were in the middle of a huge fight and I could tell he was about to say it and I was pissed. I didn't want him to say it for the first time in the middle of a fight! Dummy! lol Anyway, he said it and I did not reciprocate. But he kept saying it. We would talk on the phone and say goodbye and he'd say, "I love you." He just kept saying it until my stubborn a$$ finally gave in and said it back. Because I'd clearly loved him for a while before then but he was the only one smart enough to realize it. And a big reason why I fell in love w/him is the way he wears his heart on his sleeve and lives so passionately. Dammit, now I"m feeling all mushy and want to give him a big ol' smooch!
He did. We weren't even an "official" couple yet, but became one I believe about 2 weeks later. I wasn't ready to reciprocate yet, and I let him know that I wasn't ready to say it and I didn't want to for the sake of saying it back. I felt that wasn't fair to him, or myself but that I wanted to be with him and when I felt the same, I would tell him.
He did after about a month of dating. We had gone to a friend's birthday party and had several drinks. When we got back to his house, I got into bed and was falling asleep when he came over to my side of the bed and kneeled down next to me. He made sure I was awake, grabbed my hands and told me he loved me with tears in his eyes. We both cried and I teased him in the morning and made sure he actually remembered what happened!
Re: S/o Who said I love you first
He did....three or four weeks into dating.
I didn't reciprocate for another month or so.
Can't remember
although I am sure it was me.
I remember about 3 weeks into dating, I asked him if I could call him my boyfriend. He still laughs about that.

DH did. In fact, the first night we met and hung out, he said you are the girl I'm going to marry.
DH did. After he had 4 shots of tequilla. It was about a month in, I guess?

He said it first at 2 weeks in.
I didn't say it until a month in.
I honestly can't remember.
