Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Guess I am new here :(

Hi guys...my name is Becca. I am mother to 3 kiddos and a step son who I consider my own. We are trying for one more, but it seems to be impossible. I have had three miscarriages in a row (but 3 years apart). I had one back in 2008 I was 7 weeks a long, and they aren't sure why. The baby had a very low heartbeat at first, and by the time it picked up to a normal heart rate I had started to bleed and the day after my u/s that showed the baby was good, I lost it. Then a year later I had gotten pregnant but had no idea because I had what I thought was a regular period. Found out I was pregnant, but had an infection. By the time I got my medication I started bleeding...I was 5 weeks a long and had low hcg levels. I lost that baby 2 weeks later.

Now I am with my new husband, and we just found out we were pregnant on monday after 4 months (5 cycles) of trying. I kept having this feeling like I have thyroid issues...but my TSH came back normal (under 3.0). So I wondered about progesterone. Anyways..my doctor refused to check my P4, and only checked my hcg level. I should have been 12 dpo and it came back as 11. Got another one done 2 days later and it is at a 2...so chemical pregnancy...never had one that I am aware of before.

My doctor has told me there is nothing they can do any more for me, because of my multiple m/c so they recommended me to a fertility doctor...but it costs a lot of money out of pocket because my insurance won't cover it. Since I already have 4 kids I can't justify myself spending money that I could use on them just to have another child. So instead I am trying to go see a maternal and fetal medicine and genetic specialist who will help me a long the way.

In the meantime I take vitex, epo and I am highly considering taking progesterone cream after I O. But I am scared to try again...because I do not want to lose another...I feel lost and confused.

Has anyone had chemical pregnancies? What has been the reasoning, or did your doc say was the reason? Has anyone ever had more then 2 m/c??

I am sorry for all of your losses too...

  • Becca, I am so sorry for your losses and hope you find support you need here. I have not had chemical preg or multiple miscarriages but I know that there are women around here who have. Maybe also try posting on TTCAL... I think this board is so grief centered that a lot of us don't have answers yet, maybe those ladies can help you out. Best wishes and hugs! Lia
