2. For those that do coupon, what got you into it? I'm a big fan of being frugal in some areas (household items, etc.) so you can spend in other areas (vacations, etc). I used to work on Saturday nights so we would get the Sunday Times early. I would browse through the coupons but I would clip something here or there, nothing too exciting. Once I became a SAHM (now WAH), I got into it because I really hate spending more than I need to on things that I KNOW I can get for less -- i.e. cereal, baby items, etc.
3. For those that don't, what, if anything, would entice you to do it? N/A
4. For couponers, where do you usually coupon? Target is fabulous. You can stack a store coupon with a manufacturer's coupon. I also go to Albertson's during doublers and Safeway on a regular basis. They are all in-town, though, so I am not driving around like some crazy person with a binder full of coupons. OK, I do have a folder, but it's small. It fits in my purse.
Side note: To be a successful couponer, you have to KNOW prices. Is it worth it to use a $1 coupon on something at Safeway when you know it's cheaper to begin with at Target? (This usually applies to health and beauty and household items.) So couponing can be time consuming, but I also love the thrill of the hunt. I just got $8 off Jose Cueveo tequila! WINNING!
Side note II: The best method (for me) is to read the ads, make my grocery list and THEN go looking for coupons for the items I need (manufacturer's websites or the Krazy Coupon Lady's database). That keeps me from falling into the "oooh, good deal, I should print that" and then wasting ink and time. I do clip from the Sunday paper, and just file them under "general food" or "general household" if the coupons aren't something I need at this second but likely will in the near future. I don't get these extreme couponers who cut out every single coupon and USE them (and I don't mean for charity donations).
I mean, if Gene Juarez ran a special, I'd be all over it, but isn't what I mean. I'm not going to clip a coupon out of the ValPak and subject my brows to a $9.99 "and a free lip wax, too" deal at some random place just to save a few dollars.
5. What is the best deal you have ever gotten with a coupon? How about 100-something containers of formula for $6.84 out of my own pocket?!? OK, that was technically because of coupons AND Bumpies sending me formula checks, but even so. I also got 15 cases of Earth's Best baby food for FREE using those Amazon Mom $10 coupons back in March, and dropped it all off at the food bank on Tuesday.
6. What is one of your best go-to thrifty tips? Nordstrom will price-match pretty much anything if you have proof. I got a Kate Spade bag there for 25% off because katespade.com was having their Friends and Family Sale. I didn't want to deal with shipping, etc., so I printed out the e-mail, took it to the flagship Nordstrom in downtown Seattle and walked out with my pretty pink purse. They also price match on shoe prices from Piperlime during the Give & Get sale twice a year, so I got Collin some Adidas for 30% off in November.
7. What is something for which you won't pay anything less than full price? My eyebrows.
And wow, my answers ended up being super long. Hopefully I was somewhat helpful ... and if not, at least I killed some time before getting to work on a story.
2. For those that do coupon, what got you into it? Saving $ of course! I made a spreadsheet and tracked our monthly transactions and was floored by how much we spent at the grocery store.

4. For couponers, where do you usually coupon? I pay attention to Surviving the Stores, and Queen Bee Coupons; both which link to multiple coupon sites like coupons.com, etc.
5. What is the best deal you have ever gotten with a coupon? Can't remember so it must not have been that good.
6. What is one of your best go-to thrifty tips? Meal plan, meal plan, meal plan! We saved so much more money a month just by meal planning instead of going to the grocery store every night or several times a week.

1. Do you coupon? If so, to what degree? If not, why not? No. I don't have the patience. And, mostly, I never find for the things I want to buy. Also I've taken to buying many household, personal care and cleaning items in the Up & Up brand, which I've found to always be cheaper than other brands even with coupons.

7. What is something for which you won't pay anything less than full price? Not sure i understand this... I always try and use a coupon but usually end up paying full price on milk.
I rec checking Target.com when you're going to go; they have a lot of store coupons for Up & Up products! I have gotten $1.50 off their cold medicine, $1 off pain reliever, money off toilet paper and several other U&U items. You also can subscribe to their mobile coupons so they come right to your phone and they just scan it from there.

Not often; if there's a coupon stuck to the thing i'm buying and it doesn't involve me buying something i don't need, then i'll use it. I buy the Chinook Book every year and use a lot of those coupons. IMO it's not worth my time to cut coupons from the newspaper (which we don't get, anyway), etc.

Most coupons are for conventional/processed items, but we opt for fresh/organic/local/bulk, so they don't generally apply.

1. Do you coupon? If so, to what degree? If not, why not? Yes. I have a small filodex in my purse organized by store (Target/BB&B/Kohls/Grocery/Special) of any coupon I get in the mail or circulars. We also have the Chinook & Entertainment books.

I'm sure I've done better % wise - but at Christmas I stacked several Kohl's coupons and along with my card discount and getting my Keurig at like 1/2 price. And my one and only livingsocial was 1/2 off Children's Museum membership - that paid for itself fast! Oh...and not a coupon but I scored the cutest 2T mini boden winter coat for $1.99 at VV a month ago...it is perfect for G this winter! I ? VV and Goodwill and Craigslist.
6. What is one of your best go-to thrifty tips? I will always go to retailmenot for coupon codes before I buy anything online (and then buy through ebates for cash back!). Look at BB&B and buy there with a 20% off.
7. What is something for which you won't pay anything less than full price? Honestly, I can't think of a thing I wouldn't search for a "good deal" on first. Almost everything is on sale at one time or another.

5. What is the best deal you have ever gotten with a coupon? Recently, it was a combo of a coupon, plus in-store deal, on our new cookware set.

For couponers, where do you usually coupon? Rite Aid, Walgreen?s, Albertson?s, and now that they have changed their coupon policy Walmart.
5. What is the best deal you have ever gotten with a coupon? Rite Aid had Sonicare toothbrushes on sale for 44.99 plus a $20.00 Single check rebate. I had a coupon for $10.00 off and then Sonicare was offering their own mail in rebate for $10.00. So I ended up paying $4.99 for our $79.99 toothbrushes.
I have gotten many free items with coupons and I have stocked up on enough Huggies diapers to last us until LO is around 12 months, they all cost less then $100.00 total.
6. What is one of your best go-to thrifty tips? Follow the coupon blogs, I work full time and don?t have time to pair sales with coupons, there are some great blogs to do it for me.
7. What is something for which you won't pay anything less than full price? Nothing.
1. Do you coupon? If so, to what degree? If not, why not? Some what. I only collect and cut out coupons for stuff that I use regularly. I don't eat a lot of Pillsbury items, so I don't clip and buy a million Grands Cinnamon Rolls, but for cheese, yogurt, and must have items, absolutely.

4. For couponers, where do you usually coupon? Mostly just at Safeway where I do the bulk of my shopping. The Albertsons here is ghetto but I've gone there for doublers. And of course places like Bed Bath where you can always use a 20% off one.
5. What is the best deal you have ever gotten with a coupon? Used 2 20% off codes plus a $10 off one for Amazon and got a Blueberry diaper cover (reg. $16.99 I think) for 19 cents.

7. What is something for which you won't pay anything less than full price? If there's a coupon for something I want, of course I'll take it, but our cat food by Darwin's is never on sale. Our cats love it and I refuse to feed them anything but the healthiest stuff and hang the cost.

5. What is the best deal you have ever gotten with a coupon? Our china! The set was $600 retail, on sale for $250 at Macy's on a Black Friday, plus I went early and used another 20% off coupon and my Macy's card for another 5% off.

#1: If I can make it myself for a lot cheaper, do it.
#2: Try to buy big-ticket items used via craigslist, consignment, etc. (borrow from a friend first to make sure it's something I'd really like/use) #3: Once I do buy something and it's not something I immediately need, stash

1. Do you coupon? If so, to what degree? If not, why not? Sure do! I use coupons on most shopping trips. At a minimum I review the weekly ads and know what is on sale where. Our grocery budget was about $800 per month prior to using coupons, so I started last fall in an effort to reduce our expenses since DH is running out of unemployment. Plus it feels awesome to get something for cheap!
2. For those that do coupon, what got you into it? I've heard a lot of gals here at the bump and elsewhere saying how much coupons saved them. So I went to the Krazy Coupon Lady Website and learned the ropes.
4. For couponers, where do you usually coupon? I usually do a Rite Aid trip once a week. I get personal items there and also milk (I can get milk cheaper there than anywhere else). For grocery stores I jump around to stock up on whoever happens to be offering a good deal for something I regularly use that week. I have a shopping trip at WinCo at the beginning of the month to stock up on all the basics on my menu plan that don't normally go on sale, and I also buy some things like fruit at Costco. And it is not just about groceries either. I have specific approaches to how I buy other items my family uses like diapers and clothes for the kids so that I can get the products I like for cheaper.
5. What is the best deal you have ever gotten with a coupon? Well on Tuesday I got 2 cannisters of Lysol wipes for free. The deals I can get at Rite Aid usually are the best, but those take more work.
6. What is one of your best go-to thrifty tips? At the end of the day it is not always about what you do buy but what you don't buy. For example I've gotten used to using milk rather than creamer for my coffee. I try to not eat out as much. I keep a small stockpile of items I use regularly based on my usual menu plans, but I don't stock up on 40 bags of potato chips.
7. What is something for which you won't pay anything less than full price? I try not to pay full price for anything if I can help it. Some things are harder to get a good deal on than other things, but I try pay as little as possible without sacrificing too much of my time to do it.

2. For those that do coupon, what got you into it? I've just always done it, I guess I get it from my mom, but who doesn't like saving money?

4. For couponers, where do you usually coupon? I get my coupons mostly from the sunday paper and sometimes online. I coupon @ Fred Meyer because I stack it with the in-store coupon when the item is already on sale. I don't always like the doubler coupons at Albertsons, because I can usually get the same thing at another store for cheaper without the coupons because they have a higher starting price.
6. What is one of your best go-to thrifty tips? Like another poster said, just making sure to stack coupons with in-store sales and in-store coupons. I will wait on an item until it goes on sale to use my coupons and then I'll stock up.
