How does this Flow?

My hubby and I have a boy baby name we love.... but I dont know if it goes good with our last name.

Our last name is LaFleur and we love Bradley as a name...

so Bradley LaFleur ?sounds good... but does Brad LaFleur sound OK?

I feel like it does not flow... any thoughts or suggestions??

  • I don't think it sounds bad. I think what may sound odd to you is that Brad is a strong masculine name, and LaFleur has a feminine sound.  I don't think that's a problem, and of course you have no control over your last name. I'd stick with it if you and DH love it.

  • I think they both sound good.  If Bradley is going to be his formal name, that's all that matters, even if Brad becomes his nn.  Good name choice!

  • I actually like the sound/flow of Brad LeFleur better than Bradley LeFleur. The former is quickly and easily enunciated, while the latter is a bit of a tongue twister around the doubled L sounds.

  • I think both sound fine! But I agree with pp that Brad LaFleur actually flows better- the double L's in Bradley LaFleur make it a little awkward. Either way, good name!
  • I think either name flows just fine.

Me, too. Bradley LaFleur sounds like a South Louisiana name to me, which I'm used to hearing, so it flows nicely to me.

  • Bradley LaFleur flows better, in my opinion. Smile

The South Louisiana is funny to me - I'm watching True Blood at the moment, so maybe this is why I like Bradley better!

  • I think Bradley and Brad have a nice flow with your last name.
  • brad flows better than bradley. i don't like bradley lafleur because there are too many L sounds close together.

in general, you might want to think about a 3 syllable name since your last name is 2. for example, something like harrison lafleur works better than a 2 syllable name. a 1 syllable can work, too, but i really like 3.
