Tell me about Intralipids

As with Lovenox, I know nothing about Intralipids either.  What can you ladies offer?

I have been tested for immune disorders, I don't have any.  Last IVF cycle I was on Dexamethasone.

Wonder if Intralipids is just another substitution?

Note:  I will be calling my RE this afternoon.

Intralipids are usually used in addition to a steriod such as dexamethasone and are supposed to help regulate your immune system in some way (not sure about the exact mechanism).  It is an ifusion of certain types of fats.  Other than making my arm extemely cold when it is infused (and the normal bruising I get with IVs), I haven't had any side effects from it.  The first infusion is usually 7-10 days before ET.  With a second infusion after a positive beta.

I have been on Lovenox, BA, dexamethasone and intralipids for both of my IVF cycles.  I just set up a telephone conference for next Wednesday to discuss these with a reproductive immunologist.  From my correspondence with him, he thinks I should have testing to make sure that they, along with the Humira I am on for my arthritis, are doing what they are supposed to and are not lowering my immune system too much.  So, we will see how that goes.  I may know a little more after that.

Dr. B uses intralipids on patients with immune issues but doesn't rec if you don't have any issues because you can over-suppress the immune system
