Safe? Probably, as long as you don't eat it several times a week. However, the tuna at Subway is the most unhealthy thing on their menu. So you might want to reconsider that!
Tuna salad is fine-it is not raw. But you should limit it because of the potential amounts of mercury. Canned tuna is pretty low on that list though. But, I would be nervous about Subway tuna salad because it sits out. Although refrigerated we think it may not be cool enough and I think it is uncovered. I would feel more comfortable making my own or getting it from a deli that is reputable.

You can eat it....Tuna is pretty safe -- but I wouldn't suggest it. A 6 inch has nearly 600 calories and 30+ grams of fat. I would suggest a lighter option for that little one that you are feeding.
Canned tuna isn't cooked, well not in the traditional fashion. You know how lime or lemon juice "cooks" raw tuna and other fish? A process similar to that is used to "cook" canned tuna. However, it's not raw.
I worked at Subway when I was a kid. I would make sure to visit a busy Subway (though everything is dated). The table where the food is sitting is refrigerated underneath, so it's not really sitting out all day. I'd actually eat tuna at Subway before I would eat it at a diner or small chain....it moves faster.

That thing is about 1200 calories for a foot long. I stopped eating it cause of the calories.
I have been craving subway tuna like crazy. I eat it at least once a week. I normally would NEVER order it because I know it's loaded with mayo but I can't help it!

Re: Subway tuna?
