Farewell teacher gift

I'm soooo sad that Samantha's favorite teacher is leaving her daycare and moving back to her hometown in South Georgia.

My daughter loves her and they have a special connection. The other day, she gave me a gift bag with a birthday girl outfit for Samantha. How sweet is she!

My husband and I want to give her something special but I cant think of any. Do y'all have any suggestions? TIA

Depends on where she is moving. If they have Target, a gift card, but you might have to get WalMart for south GA. Or Home Depot or Lowes. Something to help defray moving expenses.

What about something like a little photo book of pictures of her with your kids and (perhaps) other kids at daycare? Or a framed picture or her and Samantha? With a heartfelt note of thanks, etc. This could be in addition to a gift card. Sorry she is moving--I know you will miss her.

When the boys have moved to different rooms at daycare and they are leaving a teacher behind that they are very fond of, I typically ask the teacher their favorite clothing store, and then I buy them a gc at that store. I think you can't go wrong with a Target or Wal-Mart gc, though.

I think it depends on how large the town is. I am sure the larger towns have one. However, where I grew up, Walmart was the only option for at least 50+ miles.

I wanted to add that if she is traveling light I would only get her a gift card. You don't want her to have to find a place in her luggage or boxes for small gifts. You could always get her address and send her a picture frame or something like that.

There is a gift that Nate's teacher always wears and it is an apron with the painted hand prints of all the kids. She could wear it again and always think of her great times in the ATL.

My assistant and I were just talking today about a gift for our Room Mom. We're going to get her a nice flower and let the kids decorate the pot. Probably thumb prints and turn them into bugs or something. You could do something cutsy from Samantha like that and then stick the gift card in the flower pot.

Having just moved...every little thing is a huge hassle to pack, unpack, and find a place for. Half our stuff is still at our other place and part of me wishes it would just burn down so I don't have to deal with it. But that is just me.
